Original Song Title:

"Finally"

Original Performer:

CeCe Peniston

Parody Song Title:

"Gluttony"

Parody Written by:

Confission

The Lyrics

[CHORUS]
Gluttony, it has happened to me
I keep stuffing my face
See my ass? I can't hide it
Gluttony, it has happened to me
Was talking 'bout my hair
When I said I would dye-it

Don't look at my fried rice
Stop staring at my grits
I once killed a fisherman
Just for the halibut
Hash browns, Coco Puffs
And curly fries, hell yes
It's just the way I look at them
That makes my wife jealous

[BRIDGE]
Gluttony, the way I stuff my mouth
The way I feel about food
I think I'll have a cow
If only you'd see
That I am everything
Cuz I am what I eat

CHORUS
CHORUS

My body's big enough
To feed 90 Kenyans
But I'd still be hungry
If I ate 90 of them
My favorite time of day
When lunch ends, dinner begins
How long til I get more?
Ain't that why it's called "seconds"?

BRIDGE
CHORUS
CHORUS

The original was one of my guilty pleasures in the 90s, and you did a good parody. 5-5-5

Can't believe this is the first Cece parody! Oh well, it was very clever and funny.

(SOTM) DKTOS, but I thought you could have been a little more creative with the choruses... maybe writing alternate choruses so that no chorus is ever repeated. That's what Weird Al does, that's what I do, that's what a lot of us do. And the lines could have been a little funnier. But nice concept... it almost sounded like she was singing "Gluttony, it has happened to me" LOL! 433

(SOTM) A great concept and you executed what you did very well, but just writing out "Chorus" or "Bridge" seems kind of lazy. It would have really helped to vary them, or at the very least just write them out.

And on a side note, I've always found it amusing that the OS' singer has "penis" in her last name. Yeah, I'm so immature. Heh heh.

(SOTM) Yeah, a couple new choruses wouldn't have hurt, but funny nonetheless. If this was 1990 again (when did this song come out?) this would have been a hit for Al.

(SOTM) I had totally forgotten about this song. "Just for the halibut" was a clever pun. I also liked "That I am everything/Cuz I am what I eat" and "...seconds?".

(SOTM) That was hilarios. But I have to agree with Chris with the alternate choruses. I used to keep them the same, but now I alternate them.

(SOTM) This parody has a lot of heft to it. Enjoyed!

SOTM - I must have had lard for brains when I typed my name because I almost typed wASSabe etc. I like the "just for the halibut" line. Nice pun.

SOTM...funny stuff, although, seeing the title before I clicked on the link, I just assumed (for no good reason, I assure you) that the OS was "Yesterday." I had a hell of time for a few lines there...; )

(SOTM) "My body's big enough / To feed 90 Kenyans / But I'd still be hungry / If I ate 90 of them" ... LEC-TER-RIF-FIC !!!
Stuart McArthur - June 28, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) the double spin on the "you=90 kenyans" idea was very clever, and there's nothing more cathartic than a good "fat" parody - nice work Confission (what DOES that mean?)
Phil Alexander - June 29, 2006 - Report this comment
My favourite bit would have to be the "hell, yes"/"jealous" rhyme - would I be right in my guess as to an answer to Stu's question: "Confission" is a cross between "confession" and "fission" - so you're either torn in two about something you need to confess... or you're about to nuke your priest ;-)
Confission - July 22, 2006 - Report this comment
lmao, phil. thanks for the input everyone and i think i'll write different choruses from now on (sorry for the late response, but i haven't had internet access in a while). "confission" was meant to be a cross between "confusion" and "fission". the idea is that "con-fusion" means "against-bringing together"--or basically, when you can't bring things together mentally, you're confused. therefore, "con-fission" would be the opposite of "confusion"--"against-breaking apart"--trying to brings things together or maintain one-ness. or to come to the realization that you should nuke your priest
