The Lyrics

US President George W. Bush recently proposed a tax cut, the centerpiece of which is a reduction in the taxes on dividends. Of course, Democrats have attacked the plan as being a "giveaway for the rich".
That old Dubya was talking 'bout one dark January day
He had a plan, and he said it would make for better days
And all at once, conservatives were all soon held in awe
And they all think it's worth a try and it should just be law

Yippee-ya-yay
Yippee-ya-yo
These tax cuts, will they fly

Tom Daschle was on fire, and they just won't cut a deal
"It's more tax cuts for the rich, and that's money they don't need"
They won't allow it through them as they thunder from up high
And the Democrats are trying hard and we hear their fiery cry

Yippee-ya-yay
Yippee-ya-yo
Bush tax cuts, they won't fly

They said he won't, he'd just defer, the pundits were just wet
They're trying hard to just be heard, we ain't seen nothing yet
Now they're gonna talk forever, all those pundits in the sky
Our ears are getting tired - as they talk, we hear them whine

Yippee-ya-yay
Yippee-ya-yo
Bush tax cuts, will they fly

(Harmonica solo)

And the insults were a-flyin', they're just passing the blame
Will Dubya or will Daschle prevail, and be given free rein
Will Dubya change his ways today, or will his plans be tried
And taxes be brought down to earth while Democrats just whine

Yippee-ya-yay (Yippee-ya-yay)
Yippee-ya-yo (Yippee-ya-yo)
Bush tax cuts, will they fly

Good job. That's not an easy song to write a parody to, either.

I agree - it's very well crafted. Since watching BB2000, I've thought about parodying this one, but haven't come up with a good subject.
