The Lyrics

A lot of things in fiction don't apply in real life. Take, for example, the concept of epiphany therapy...
Been said ev'rybody has problems
With no one way to solve them
Though some try really hard
I said "some" although what I mean is
Your stupid ass, I mean it
Because you just drive me spare

Dude, I've said many times, instant epiphanies
Aren't it, I don't like how you will insist
That it always works, not seen it fail, so you like it
And I've said that my response is still "Stop"

I need you to think beyond the movies
Where one thought's such a doozy
Heals your brain right off
That's wrong now, need time to think things over
Constant work to push you over
Into a healthy person

Dude, I've said many times, instant epiphanies
Won't fix minds, real life does not work like film
There you can wrap up all things in two hours nicely
'Cause the script said so, so you can shut up

I get that you like to help with problems
But as of now, you've solved none
I've been keeping a chart
And yes, I get that it's ironic
That I want you to stop this
Instantly, may seem unfair

Since I've said many times, instant epiphanies
Don't work, I know my stance by now, that said
I won't say I'm wrong, a big diff'rence here, can find it
Between what I want to fix and your goals

Ooh, know I've said many times, instant epiphanies
Won't solve crimes, that's right, or cure depression
But a sudden stop will fix you being a right shit
That's one fix I think will work quick, so stop
'Cause I've said many times, instant epiphanies
Aren't real psych, more like some Dr. Oz shit
And even if one does click, that doesn't mean I'll quit
Because this whole schtick still pisses me off

Dunno what's more doomed, this guy's approach to helping people or the relationship in this song. The one thing you have in common is a classic Audrey Hepburn movie that you both only kinda remember and only mildly liked, maybe? Truly the love story of our times.
