The Lyrics

This winter, I lost a place that I practically grew up in. It was a hotel/bar/restaurant sitting atop the hill of a boat launch that could be accessed by a Secondary Highway. It was a piece of town history not to mention my family history. The premis of Juke Box is a man who has a fight with his wife/girlfriend and goes for a drive up an "old familiar highway just a few miles outta town" to a place that he considered his stomping ground only to find it was changed by some big-city influence.
After damn near a year together, we had our first big fight.
So she ran to her mother, and I went for a drive.
Down an old familiar highway, just a few miles outta town.
But I couldn't go to the Lodge, cause some yankee burned it down.

Well I pulled in the driveway, and it just didn't look the same.
Well I saw, a hydro pole, that was eaten up by flames.
I stood in the doorway, I just tried to see.
I looked up, and I looked down, couldn't picture where I'd be.

Why'd you open up the windows and doors!?
Explain the pour-patterns on the floor!
You were heard to say you were sweatin pipes
From where I stand I think you're tellin lies.

And who's idea was it to tear it down?
This hotel/bar is a piece of town.
You got so far up the insurance company's ass your nose is brown.
Get your lyin ass out of my town.

Why'd you open up the windows and doors!?
Explain the pour-pattern on the floors!
You were heard to say you were sweatin pipes
From where I stand I think you're tellin lies.

And who's idea was it to tear it down?
This hotel/bar is a piece of town...
As a note, about the windows and doors being opened: Before the fire, the place was completely boarded up...In all the pictures and according to witnesses, the place was wide open, because everyone knows fire needs oxygen to live...So the crook decided to "open'r up and let'r go."
