The Lyrics

Finally, more than two years after the original "I've Seen Every Car", comes this sequel from the point of view of the truck driver.
I was driving my rig along the big brand new shiny Auto Row
When along came a guy whom I saw checkin' out my new car load
Said, "You going the way to Porsche? Yeah, you can ride with me,"
So he climbed into my cab and then he sat down on the seat
I asked what sort of cars he knows; he put on some ol' act
And I said, "Mister, I've seen more cars than you, and that's a fact!"

I've seen every car, man
I've seen every car, man
You think that you're on par, man
The automotive czar, man
I've seen the normal and bizarre, man
I've seen every car

I've seen the:

And Touran

I've seen cars get chopped, man
Stolen from the shops, man
Chased down by the cops, man
And crashed 'cause they don't stop, man
I've seen 'em flipped on their tops, man
I've seen every car

Very educational.

Two words that should never have been placed together. "Celebrity" and "Eurosport"
Security code was SCX. Isn't that a Lexus model? 555

5's, even though I was disappointed that I couldn't find any reference to my malachite green Holden Gemini SL rego number 098-NVP, that I originally bought in 1980, heh heh

(SOTM) Great rhyming in the list sections and the rest was OK as well.

This isn't one of your better ones Wannabe. It's nice to see you back and everything, but doing a sequel to a list parody is like adding more clothes to a Sims Expansion pack and that's it. I mean it's fun, because you get to see new stuff, but there's nothing you can really do with it. Know what I mean? Not a favorite by you. No offense.

(SOTM) List songs are always an achievement of technical craft, if not totally fun to read.

(SOTM-JAN) The original car idea for this OS was done by John Penry on Aug 29, 2004.

But this one is still very drivable.

(SOTM) Not the best OS to write a sequel of a previous parody to, especially when the original was the same OS. Gets a bit boring, listing car after car. But then the OS kinda works against ya.
Max Power - February 28, 2008 - Report this comment
Great
Phil Alexander - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
Technically well executed, but I agree with some of the other comments above, not really an outstanding example of the genre.
Kristof Robertson - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I kind of agree with a lot of the above comments, Jay....while technically very good, it's hard to see the point of this....which happens a lot in list parodies. Sorry, mate, but not a huge fan of this one
Jeff Reuben - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
Tough OS...I actually enjoyed this one (maybe because I liked seeing all the cars). You did a good job with this one.

Still liked it,5s

(SOTM) Seemed reminiscent of your previous version ;)

I would be hard to parody the OS and not have a "list" parody. I got a few chuckles from this one.

Considering the fact that I have a tendency to buy very cheap used cars and then drive them until they are only good for parts or scrap metal, I recognized many model names in this parody. Examples: Matador, Leganza, Cressida, Ford Fiesta, Daihatsu, Beauville, and Celebrity Eurosport. Out of all those, the Cressida was the best (it lasted almost 4 years until the chassis rusted to the point that the engine fell out), and the Beauville (which is a type of full-size Chevy van) was the worst, since it was a pain to park, was unreliable, guzzled gas and burned to the ground 6 months after I bought it. As for cars that I want, I recognized those too, namely the Riley Elf, (Lancia) Fulvia, Cosworth-Vega and (Detomaso) Deauville. All in all, great job, and here are more 5s.
