The Lyrics

I can't be the only one who really hates road work, Can I?
You take an orange can
And put it in the road
Then times it by a lot
And stop all traffic flow…

It blows!
It blows!

A Mister Hyde Driver
Raised hell through the streets
He smashed cones cause he is a threat
Dealing with the Agony…
Of Construction!

Bashing through the roadblocks
His work commute’s not slowed
Like us he is repulsed
Sees flashing signs and groans

He groans…
He groans…

That Mister Hyde Driver
His speed won’t decrease
Puts workers in a cold sweat
He’s through with the Agony…

That Mister Hyde Driver
Stomps gas with his cleats
Knows that we all get upset
Angry with the Agony…
Furious with Agony…
Of Construction

The bus drivers grumble
Big truckers bawl
Those barriers aren't leavened
The lethal man has stalled…

Has Stalled…
He’s Stalled…

That Mister Hyde Driver
Stopped by the Police
Can’t smash through cones with no sweat
Must stick with the Agony…

That Mister Hyde Driver
Made road work increase
That is his only regret
Couldn't halt the Agony…
We’re stuck with the Agony…
Of Construction!!!!

I like how you created a metal-type character to help illustrate the concept, cleverly subbing the main words of the OS.

They're difficult to navigate through too.

(Artistry) I actually hold the opposite opinion of Agri, the Hyde Driver character actually hindered my enjoyment of this parody. Too much time was spent explaining his anger level and not enough on what it is about the roadworks that got him all pissy. I liked the title sub, though.

(Artistry) I think I agree with TCOP actually. I usually like character-based parodies, but I didn't think it was necessary here. The concept alone is enough to make me interested. We all can relate to construction woes. Play that up, I didn't need a character to really convey that. You speaking as yourself could've done that just fine.

I kinda agree with both sides on the "character" debate...I liked what you did, but I don't think it was necessary. A lot of funny stuff here, and the title sub is perfect! Great work!

Hey, Siskel and Elbert, I think the song was well done. It's hard to make something rhyme, come up with something funny, and match it to existing music. I haven't seen or heard your music at all, let alone be played on the radio like this one
