Song Parodies -> "Allah Paula Cheese"

Original Song Title:

"All Apologies"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Nirvana

Parody Song Title:

"Allah Paula Cheese"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

Nope, not about Allah. People hear the strangest things.
( intro )

What else should I be?
Allah Paula cheese
What else could I save?
Everyone is eight
What else could I ride?
I don't have a bride
What else should I be?
All a pile 'o G's

In the sum
In the son, I fear as one
It must suck
Innocent...
Mary, air raid

I wear showers like you
Easily abused
Fined my next assault
Everythings my fart
Out-take all the lame
I'm conceived from shame
Someone frees a bird
Joking on the a$$es of a runaway

It must suck
In the suck, I feed as one
In the sun
Innocent...
Mary, marine, married, Barry
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Tylenol is all we are
All alone is all we are
All unknown is all we are
All on loan is all we are
Oh I know is all we are
Alan Alda's all we are
Oh we know is all we are
All we know insomnia
All I know is all we are
All in null is are we are
All we are is sorry dogs
Awl n nah is all we are
Oh I know the zombie comes
All in all it's all beyond
Carl Malone is all we are
I don't know azalea
On and on this song is long
I don't know what's up with y'all
On and on it's how we are
All in all is all we are*
*This is the actual lyric for the outro. Listen to the "In Utero" CD at low volume for best effect.

All the lines sound very similar to those of TOS...it's great!! 5-5-5!

well, it makes as much sense as the original....;-) 555

What Blue Ant and Kristof said... makes just as much sense as the original. I suppose these lines could be mishearings of the respective lines of the original. Nicely done... 5-5-5.

Thanks everyone, and kozar is correct, the last 20 lines were put in specific order as to the most likely misheard line.
Peter Andersson - June 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Am I right in assuming this is the same concept as in "Smells Like Misheard Lyrics"?
Red Ant - June 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Yes Peter, same deal. 90% of these again were taken from the section here. This paces better than "SLML" and I am thinking after hearing this song a number of times that some of these misheard lyrics are infact the original ones. I might need hearing aids.=)
anderson "parody man" araujo - June 28, 2005 - Report this comment
nice job man, this one is pretty funny, 5's

Thanks again "parody man".

Thanks a.d.i.d.a.s.
Ashley Schwartz - July 06, 2005 - Report this comment
I suppose the "I'm conceived from shame" line could have been "I can see from shame" or "I proceed from shame" or something like that. Good work, man.
jango - July 06, 2005 - Report this comment
Ant-person! I busted a gut reading this! I never even knew the title of the OS, and the only thing I could ever understand was "MARY!" But I will do my homework, and download the OS if I can find it, just for the fun of it. You are taking parody writing to new heights. I would have voted for others of yours, just don't know any Metallica. Did you ever hear the Weird Al parody of Smells Like Teen Spirit, "We're so loud and Incoherent This'll really Bug your parents! Yeah!"
Red Ant - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Ashley, and yes those 2 lyrics were listed as well in the section here, but that lyric seemed the most likely.

Thanks as well Jango, and it's been a while since I heard "Smells Like Nivana", which is hilarious. Thanks for the "taking parody writing to new heights" mention and looking at my Metallica parodies.=)
spellchecker to R.A. - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
Who is "Nivana"? You forgot the R.
Red Ant to spellchecker - July 07, 2005 - Report this comment
All Apologies. =)
Dominic L. - July 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Actually, he put the R in this one
spellchecker to Dominic L. - July 10, 2005 - Report this comment
I was referring to his July 7 comment, when he put "Smells Like Nivana" instead of "Smells Like Nirvana."
Dominic L. - July 12, 2005 - Report this comment
Ah, I see. Red Ant, this is the second time I know of where you did that! Oh well, it's OK

Red Ant - August 01, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Scrawny Johnny. Apology accepted. Thanks as well Jon C., didn't realise you also caught my "Smells LIke Misheard Lyrics" as well.
jango - August 01, 2005 - Report this comment
Can anyone find a download of the original song without having to purchase the whole "In Utero" album? I can only find the live version. Thanks.
Red Ant - August 03, 2005 - Report this comment
Jango, I don't download music so I can't tell you where to look. Last time I checked though "In Utero" was less than $10 and has some pretty good other songs on it. No idea if the Live version is more understandable than the "In Utero" release.
Serafina - August 11, 2005 - Report this comment
Wow...I guess I haven't looked at this one yet... I think it's a great little spoof on the original. I guess the line that's repeated at the end has lots of different mishearings; when it came out, I couldn't figure out what he was saying. Now I do know what the right words are. I will give this a perfect 5-5-5. ;)
Red Ant - August 13, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Serafina. I thought he was saying "all alone is all we are".

I looked at this one a long time ago but didn't comment. It's amazing at how many things one can misunderstand in a single song. Nicely put together.
Adagio - October 29, 2005 - Report this comment
Jack, this one was funny! Yup, a person who writes mainly '60s parodies trying to make heads or tails out of these.
Olvan The Terrible - October 30, 2005 - Report this comment
One of the funniest strictly-mondegreen parodies out there! It truly deserved another day on the front page. But you left out my favorite of the possible mishearings: "Oh, no, a zombie, aaaahhhh."
Red Ant - October 31, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Nally, Pat and Olvan. Olvan, I did have the line "Oh I know the zombie comes", duplicates and incorrect syllable matches were not included. Glad you liked it still.
The Rev. A. Palgut - April 21, 2006 - Report this comment
It's nice, but you need a "misheard" parody of Heart-shaped Box. I also see "all alone is all we are" (which is from the MTV Unplugged version) and "Married" and "in the sun" (which are the real lyrics) in this song. You got 5's from me
Red Ant - May 05, 2006 - Report this comment
Thanks Rev. A. I do have other Nirvana misheard parodies - Smells Like Teen Spirit, Mexican Seafood and In Bloom.

The Rev. A. Palgut - May 20, 2006 - Report this comment
I didn't finish what I started. I thought "All Apologies" was on the "Nevermind" album with "Smells like Teen Spirit," "Lithium," "In Bloom," and, so I also thought, "Heart-Shaped Box."
The Rev. A. Palgut - May 31, 2006 - Report this comment
I think you'r missing one of my favorie mishearances at the end about Herbert Lom, who played Dreyfus in the Pink Panther movies: "Oh no it's Lom - Hi-yah!" and another about the main character (Peter Sellers) of those movies, which I myself forgot in my parody : "Oh Clouseau it's how we are."
The Rev. A. Palgut - June 03, 2006 - Report this comment
What does "Awl n nah" mean? Is it Sudric or Welsh?
The Rev. A. Palgut - June 17, 2006 - Report this comment
"Onto Walt - it's how we are" is another line I misheard. It refers to the famous creator of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Walt Disney.
Red Ant - June 18, 2006 - Report this comment
Alan, "Awl n nah" has no specific meaning. I think it is Gibberish. By the way, you should consider enableing comments on your parodies; your Metallica one today was pretty funny.

(ABC4) LOL! I listened to this first Jack - off the MB, without getting the joke, but now I read the lyrics and see what you were doing it's hilarious - loved the Alan Alda line - and Nirvana is perfect for this sort of send-up - gee I wish you guys knew about James Reyne over there!!! - 555 - (btw is Allah Paula related to bobpie?)

(ABC4) Thank you Stu for the reference - THE highlight of my day. Obviously not including this parody, which is one of your best, Mr. Ant! Misheard lyric parodies FTW!
Red Ant - September 01, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4) Hey, this is my entry... eh, I started typing, so I might as well comment. Decent recording, the mix doesn't sound quite the way I remember it though. The MIDI was shorter than the original, so a line was cut out of the outro and the last line was sung a cappella. Your(my) voice broke up in a few spots too - work on that.

(ABC4) Well, Jack, I wasn't a big fan of the recording, but the lyrics are fantastic!!!!!! I happen to love the original, but I never did know why. . .oh yeah cause I could sing anything and it'd sound like I know the original. Well, I haven't read all the entrants yet, but "I'm conceived from shame" is among many of the best lines I've read in this parody which make it my front-runner thus far.
