Today is supposed to be the day
Our neighbourhood's going to hear from city crews
By now they should have realized
How bad the noise really is
I don't believe that anybody
Should suffer with the traffic noise
Although I live on a residential street
The freeway noise behind is loud
I'm sure the mayor's heard it all before
But he probably thinks it not bad at all
I don't believe that the residents should
Put up with it at all

And all the semis that pass are honking
And all the cars that pass are speeding
There are many things that are annoying
About living behind
The freeway

Because maybe
I might have to move from the freeway
Or after all
They'll build a sound proof wall
