"New Car Smellody"

Parody Written by:

Adagio and Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

A parody story inspired by an article we read, "Confessions of a Car Salesman". He works undercover for edmunds.com. In the parody "pop a cherry" refers to when a new salesman sells his first car. For anyone wanting to weed through the long article it's at - http://aolsvc.edmunds.com/advice/buying/articles/42962/article.html
Do they have real lives?
Do they sell fantasy?
Undercover spy
Had to find the mentality
Opened my eyes, internet sites are free.
Click edmunds dot com, they show us empathy
So they have put me there, put me here, put me there, so I go.
Anywhere I'm employed doesn't really matter to me, to me.

Drama over sedan
Learned the tricks that I do dread, 'popped a cherry', so they
said.
Go and sell those cars, my son.
But now I've sold some more to my dismay.
Aha, ooh, found out ways to make them buy,
Whiff of new car just makes them want to borrow
Chatter on, chatter on and don't forget to flatter.

Too late, signed papers chum
So sign on the dotted line, my family needs to dine.
Goodbye, all you suckers, you've got to go,
You must leave ID behind at the sales booth
Mama, ooh,now just watch me fly.
If they could boost themselves just one they sure would try.

I see a little bit of wet on the fan,
Got a leak, blew a seal, is this a lemon Durango?
Thunderbird's exciting, drive it fast as lightning, wee!
(Monte Carlo.) Red Camaro. (Monte Carlo.) Red Camaro, Red Camaro

steals the show.
How fast it go. Corvette's are pure joy, got in stock two or

three.
Passes everything 'cept a gas station, gee.
Save engine life with good viscosity.
Make it run, make it go, just don't make it slow.
New wheel-ahs! Yo, we do not care for slow.
Nothing slow! new wheel-ahs, we do not care for slow.
(Nothing slow!) new wheel-ahs, we do not care for slow.
(Nothing slow!) we don't care for slow.
(Nothing slow!) we don't care for slow. (nothing slow!) Ah.
Go, go, go, go, go, go.
(A Carmen Ghia, Carman Ghia.) Carmen Ghia, oh hell no.
The sports car club would just revel at the sight of me, of me, of
me.

So now that you like the car you're ready to buy?
So you think that you can buy it for a lesser price?
Oh, sign it, I can't go lower, maybe.
They want to get out, can't let them get outta here.

Money's all that matters, we must get our fee,
Money's all that matters,
Money's all that matters you see.
'
You'll pay right through the nose.

Very good you two, I really enjyed this one, I even played it with the original and just kinda dubbed the words to this one in and it fit amazingly good.....keep it up:)

Thanks to one and all who voted and commented on our first two duet numbers. This started out as a parody on shady car dealers when DiTech.com got injected into it which spawned the second Bohemian Rhapsody parody. As if writing this song once was not enough. Since it has been done to death, we figured, what's two more.

you are an awesome pair to deal with.. very soon along the might of Merry and pippin.. keep up the good work guys. 5-5-5 for a very original idea

I am flattered beyond words, Malcolm. But I cannot take credit for the idea. It was Adagio's idea after she read that article. The DiTech one came from me when I injected it into this one. See which one is getting more votes at this time? Way to go, Adagio.

Sweet mother of Freddie Mercury, this is INCREDIBLE ! How do you guys come up with something this intricate? I mostly specialize in relatively short and simple parodies. This opus boggles my freakin mind. It's full of lines with sparkling and crystalline pacing - e.g. "Thunderbird's exciting, drive it fast as lightning, wee!", "Save engine life with good viscosity", and "The sports car club would just revel at the sight of me, of me, of me" !!! Bravo !

Thanks, Johnny, what very super words...makes it worth the work!! Thanks again!!! (Those lines I couldn't leave out...they were Guy's and made me smile, because they were fun)

You're welcome, Adagio and Guy! I forgot to mention the other thing besides the pacing that blew me away: your artistic crafting of word-sounds to parallel those of the original as close to syllable-by-syllable as possible: "Thunderbird's exciting (Thunderbolt and lightning), drive it fast as lightning (very very frightening)", "Save engine life (Spare him his life) with good viscosity (from this monstrosity)", and "The sports car club (Be-el-ze-bub) would just revel (has a devil) at the sight (put aside) of me (for me)" !! Hey everybody, take note here - this is parody at a level of subtlety bordering on the subliminal.... it deserves all the praise it gets.

Thanks Johnny - Lots of people seem to stress over writing a parody on Bohemian Rhapsody. Actually it is not that difficult to come up with great flow, rhyming and pace on this song. The more multi syllable words in this song that need rhyming seem to offer a whole lot more to choose from than lets say a song with a lot of one or two syllable words that need to rhyme. Words like Beelzebub can be rhymed easily by using something like 'Club' for 'Bub' and putting a phrase that goes with the song on front of 'Club'. Words like 'Silhouette' work the same way. Rhyme the last syllable and put a phrase in front that makes sense and go from there. It does take a lot of careful selection to get the internal rhyme going but, oh what a difference it makes.

Thanks again for your compliments to Adagio and me.

You got the trifecta. 555 Chalupas, Man And Madame. New car salesmen are one step below , used car salesmen and lawyers. Next comes land pimps (realtors)
