Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

It took Roger Clemens 19 years to get to 300. It took me one, give or take a couple of weeks. OK, it's not the same game. So what.
Oh, life, it's bigger
it's bigger than you
and it is funny.
The subjects I would go to
like burgers, shakes and fries
oh, no, I wrote too much
I posted up.

That's me at the keyboard
that's me in cathode light
using my derision
trying to poke fun at you
and don't you know that I can do it
oh, no, you suck so much
I cannot say enough.

I thought that I heard you laughing
in spite of the song I sing
I think you laugh so hard you cry.

Every writer of every freaking spoofer
we're writing 'bout elections
trying to keep an eye on Bush
he's a far-right-wing crazy fool
oh, no, you like him much
you say, "Shut up!"

Consider this
the hint of Pip and Merry
consider this
the hobbits ought be
on high seas sailed
what if all these big-league teams
come flailing around
then I wrote...too much.

I thought that I heard you laughing
in spite of the song I sing
I think you laugh so hard you cry.

But that song was a scream
that song was a scream
That's me at the keyboard
that's me in cathode light
using my derision
trying to poke fun at you
and don't you know that I can do it
oh, no, you suck so much
I cannot say enough.

I thought that I heard you laughing
in spite of the song I sing
I think you laugh so hard you cry
cry
cry
'cause that song was a scream
that song was a scream
was a scream.
Incidentally, 72 of my 300 parodies (counting this one) are anti-Bush songs, including the one titled "Anti-Bush Songs." That's 24 percent. It only seems like more than one out of four.

And nobody uses it better than you, Michael... ;-)

The tally, through Number 300 on Thanksgiving Weekend, 2003: 90 about politics (72 anti-Bush, 18 other political topics), 30 percent; 78 about sports, 26 percent; 56 about pop culture, including TV shows, movies, music, books and the like, 19 percent; and 22 about food or overeating, 7 percent. The food total counts "Cookie," "Don't Eat There at Subway" and "Scenes from a Chinese Restaurant" (also about pop-culture), and "Drunk and Fallin' On the Floor" and "Eat My Shoes" (also political songs), but not "Hannibal," songs with "Pie" in the title, songs about Babe Ruth, "Just My Favorite Bar" or the anti-Bush songs "I'm a Boozer," "Tax On the Table" and "30 Months of Proof He's Bananas." And, yes, those are shameless plugs.
