The Lyrics

This is my first parody, so I'm not sure if the pace is correct or anything like that.
Burnt Cake Brings Tears

Add an egg to some flour,
Mix and bake for an hour.
Sit on your ass while,
It cooks to a golden brown.

Look through the oven window,
Is it ready, do you yet know?
Please be ready, for I am hungry,
For a nice spongey cake.

And it's about time,
It's about drawing near.
Burnt cake brings tears,
Burnt cake brings tears.

My God you're burnt, I am upset,
I am full of hungry regret.
I think I'll call the fire brigade,
To put out the oven fire.

Nothing left, nothing within,
I didn't get to lick the tin.
The oven's just a stranger,
As is the eggs and flour.

And it's about time,
It's about fear,
Burnt cake brings tears.
Don't you want me,
My flavour, you cannot buy,
We'll watch as the flames die.
Burnt cake brings tears,
Take me inside your body,
Cover me with your enzymes.
To the darkest recess,
Is where I wish to go,
Made from sweetest flour.
That I have ever devoured,
I ask for nothing given,
For nothing in return .
