This is about the war movie and novel "Eye of the Needle" which deals with a dreaded spy-assassin that discovers that the D-Day invasion will come at Normandy instead of Calais but gets shipwrecked on Storm Island where he meets a love interest in Lucy who is caring for her physically and emotionally crippled husband and their boy. A friendship ensues and then a physical relationship... until Lucy discovers her husband murdered. Fearing for her life and that of her child, Lucy nevertheless discovers the Nazi plan to escape via U-boat and suddenly a 2-person war breaks out on the island. The Needle doesn't want to harm Lucy but must accomplish his mission. Terrified Lucy cuts off the Nazi's fingers, shorts the radio out, and then pursues with a pistol. The defiant Nazi makes it to a boat and all looks lost... but she nails him at the very last moment.
