The Lyrics

The life of political consultants...
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

We have him say “compassion”
We have her say “expertise”
We’re teaching every candidate in our classroom
What to do to put the voters at ease
We take a poll in a locale
We find out what it takes to make you seem like a pal
Just wear this outfit and take plenty of pix
Your rating’s goin’ up
Raise a cup, don’t let up, pick it up

Hey
If they pay our hefty fee
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey
Democrat or GOP
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey, we’ll sway your mind
You’re over 18 so here’s a button and a sign
Hey, it’s child’s play

When you grasp our interference
It’s already too late
We know all the tricks and they work without fail
Your vote’s wasted on the wrong candidate
It goes down the same as the thousand before
No one's getting smarter
No one's learning the score
You vote for the illusion that our experts create
No matter if he’s a dope
If he’s a dope
If he’s a

Hey
When you see ‘em on TV
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey
Democrat or GOP
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey, we’ll sway your mind
With negative ads that say the other fella’s slime
Hey, it’s child’s play

And some people say we’re political whores
Only after money from the Bushes and Gores
But every politician keeps on paying our rate
Because we’re selling them hope
Selling them hope
Selling them

Hey
All the backroom boys agree
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey
Democrat or GOP
Ain’t a doubt
We’re gonna get ‘em nominated

Hey, we’ll sway your mind
We’ve got the sound bites that have the meter and the rhyme
Hey, it’s child’s play

Hey! This isn't about an evil Chucky doll! It's about somebody even more evil.... Bush.... I'm not big on political parodies, but this one wasn't too bad.

Artistry--The trick to political parodies is bipartisanship and staying interesting in spite of topicality...which this parody deals with in spades. Good job, Rex!

(Artistry) I have honestly NO IDEA what to make of this parody. But then political parodies have never been my thing anyway. Good job anyways.

(Artistry) One of the better Political parodies I've read Rex, you hit on both sides of the isle. When I read the title I was kinda expecting a horror comedy bit, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this political piece.
