Recently, I listened to the latest recording, "Free Samplin'" and I liked how it's provoking that when wholesale stores put out lots of free samples, some customers take too much advantage of it by munching down on several of them. That reminded me of when I first heard the original song 14 years ago, I was singing "Free Parking" about a small game about paying the parking meters that I used to own, which is a little Parker Brothers card game that they made a long time ago after the space in Monopoly. I thought I'd write this parody about being happy that you don't have to pay anyone rent when landing on that space, it's designed as a free resting space. Of course, while the Orthodox rules say you don't get anything for landing there, I used to play the game by house rules where you paid for property auctions there and also any payments due on Community Chest and Chance cards. However, this parody is about just using it the way it's supposed to be used - a free resting spot.Keep checking more of my work in the upcoming future. I am actually working on making my first recording, which will be of "Will I Have Money Tomorrow?"!

I still do not get as many comments as I hope for, so please do leave comments if you can! So far, I have received no comments on "Assets Run Dry", "No Drugs", and "Who Will Pay The Toll?" As before, "Will I Have Money Tomorrow" and "This Land Is My Land" are still the most popular. However, "Segregated" got 5-5-5 for it's votes thus far, which I am really proud of, so I may try to sing a recording of that one on this site in the future! So far, each of my parodies has an average of 6 votes, and half of them are below average. I like hearing what people honestly have to say about all my parodies!

Kudos on this, because it look like an original version of this parody. I say it that way because there is already a parody to THIS song about THIS subject with the same title. Aside from the title, you don't have any lyrics in common with the other version, so good job. Just be careful and do a search here on the site when you have an idea, just to make sure no one's had it already. It's definitely happened to me.

Hey, that chorus was exactly that same! =) Great minds think alike, eh? If you read both my version and this one, it's very obvious that they were both written totally independent of each other. I've had the same thing happen to me, so I'm not angry or anything (actually, it's nice to know someone else out there had the same idea). Good job, David, and thanks for reading mine too.

David, I'm doing a parody with this OS and I saw this while checking to make sure it wasn't too close to anything already submitted...(OK...and also to check which decade the song was from...the late 70's and the early-to-mid 80's are pretty blurry to me music-wise...and some other ways, too) and I'm just too lazy to look that up)...Nice job...I give you 5 "Community Chest, 5 "Chance", and 5 Extra Rolls for this one.

Whoa! This is from the NINETIES??? Looks like that daze that I thought I was in from about 1977 through 1985 or '86 lasted into the NEXT decade as well...time flies when you don't know what the h*ll you are doing...

Actually, Paul, it was a hit in late 1989, but it carried over into 1990.
