These are short parody lyrics set to the lyrics of songs by Billy Joel.
Billy Joel
Imagine the president of Iran singing his
version of this popular early 1990s
Billy Joel tune, 'River of Dreams'.
First, the background gospel singers would
be doing this intro (on the Billy Joel song,
they're singing 'In the middle of the, in the
middle of the...' in a particular rhythm before the first verse begins:
'In the middle of the ni-ight...I go walking in my sleep...' etc.)... (Mamou-Mahmoud, Ah-madinejad!
Mamoud! Ahma, Ah-madinejad!
Mamoud! Fatwa! Al-lah wants Jihad!
Mamoud! Tell 'em! In-fidel be gone!)
First verse:
I am looking for a fi-ight
we can nuke you while you sleep
You can't threaten Iran
UN sanctions? Sounds we-eak
I must be kooky or something
All my marbles I lost
But you're in trouble alright
because I am the boss!
Bridge:
Even though I know oil prices are high
I wake up every morning and rant a l'il more
I thumb my nose at those American guys
'Til Bush is finally gone then I'll just yell at Gore!'
etc. etc.....
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
From the mountains of faith
To the river so deep
I must be lookin' for something
Something sacred I lost
But the river is wide
And it's too hard to cross
Bridge:
even though I know the river is wide
I walk down every evening and stand on the shore
I try to cross to the opposite side
So I can finally find what I've been looking for
etc. etc.....
