The Lyrics

Another atrocious autobiographical spoof of mine, using the two songs from A Chorus Line (just so you'd know, instead of the dialogue section in the first song I simply put a part of the second song).
Daddy always said I was artistic like him
That's what he said, that's what he said
When I was young even my mother
Said she thinks I may have a chance
And now I am twenty-two,
Though I am twenty-two,
Though I m twenty-two,
I still remember

Life as a youngster wasn't exciting
But I tried fun of all sorts
I wasn't much of a singer or dancer
And I really sucked at sports
I knew I had to be good at something
Something that was a must
I wasn't sure
Well, not then
Well, what a bust

But
Everything was beautiful at the art class
Fingerpaints, crayons too, everywhere
Yes,
Everything was beautiful at art class
Hey!
I was happy... at the art class

That's why I started art class...

Down a long and very narrow hallway

In the school I would roam
Down a long and very narrow hallway

It wasn't paradise...
It wasn't paradise...
It wasn't paradise...

But it was home.

Mother always said I'd be very special
When I grew up, when I grew up.
"Diff'rent," she said, "With a side of peculiar
And a very, very personal flair."
And though I was eight or nine,
Though I was eight or nine,
Though I was eight or nine,
I hated that
Now,

"Diff'rent" is nice, but it sure isn't pretty.
"Pretty" is what it's about.
I never met anyone who was "diff'rent"
I just couldn't figure that out
So unusual, everyone could see
And it was clear,
If not to her,
Well, then... to me...
That ...

Everyone is talented at the art class
Every artist has his special knack
Yes,
Everyone is talented at the art class

Hey!...

It was pretty...

At the art class

Down a long and very narrow hallway
Something in my mind burned
Down a long and very narrow hallway

It wasn't paradise...
It wasn't paradise...
It wasn't paradise...

And then I learned...

See, I really couldn't draw
I could never really draw

What I couldn't do was... draw!
When I start to... sketch!
People start to ... retch!
It's so horrid and.. raw!
See, I really couldn't see
Which line was straight or was... loose!
I tried and tried, but no... use!

Hey, when I begin to... paint!
It's more like I... taint!
An artist I... ain't!
I'm more like a... joke!
I just wanna... croak!
It made my teachers... faint

Oh I know you're thinking
What a crazy... flaw!
But I really couldn't... draw!
I could never really... draw!
What I couldn't do was..draw!

(Doo-doo-doo-doo)

Though it was clear...

(Doo-doo-doo)

I still went on...

(Doo-doo-doo)

I tried and tried til I failed

(Doo-doo-doo-doo)

That's what I said...

(Doo-doo-doo)

That's what I said...

(Doo-doo-doo)

Everything was beautiful at the art class
Pretty pics and artsy chicks were there
Yes, everything was beautiful at the art class
At the art class
At the art class!!!

Yes everything was beautiful at the art class

Hey!...

I was happy...
I was hopeless...
But I held on

At...the...art class
