The Lyrics

My second tribute to "Zorro's Black Whip" which starred Linda Stirling as the masked avenger who saves Crescent City from an evil councilman over Idaho statehood. Vic Gordon, secret Govt. agent, is also there to fight but ends up rescued by the Black Whip time and again... only to discover that he is a she- Barbara Meredith, the city paper Editor! Together, they defeat Dan Hammond and his henchmen and Idaho becomes a state!
There was a brave Idaho Girl
Of Crescent City
Who witnessed an awful sight
Brother died, was a pity

To avenge him was her desire
She assumed his disguise
Mounted Shadow, on her way
A long bullwhip by her side

[As she rides, and rides, and rides]

At once she was put to the test
Dan Hammond would not stop
He gathered his best henchmen (and)
Said, “Make the Black Whip drop”

Vic Gordon was a watchdog
Sent to observe from the East
Was rescued by that masked girl
Black Whip could not be beat

[Hammond’s men faced defeat]

Together, they took on them all
Defeated their cunning leader
From that day on Vic does believe
Black Whip is Idaho’s savior

[He must re-pay the favor]

Please note that the TKOG ref actually belongs on the performer line, but I put it with the new song to draw attention so that certain people wouldn't ask for a link to a mailed booklet from the Salesians.
