The Lyrics

Of the five or seventy other parodies of this song, mine's probably not 'the best'. But all the cool kids are doing it, so here I go.
Open wide. Now open wider
Gums will bleed. Should have flossed more
All I came for was just a little check
(Just a little check) Check-up baby (Just a little check)
(Just a little check) Oh, owww, owww, owww (Just a little check)

I'm just gonna poke around
Don't make a sound
I'm just gonna poke around
with this sharp thing
All I'll ask for, is that you please sit up
(Just a little bit) Sit-up Please (Just a little bit)
(Just a little bit) I'm almost done poking (Just a little bit)

I'm about to give ya, lot's of money
And all I'm askin', in return
Is to NOT SEE, you again for six months
(see ya) (see ya) (see ya) (see ya)
Bye Bye Baby
(see ya) (see ya) (see ya) (see ya)
(See ya later doc) Don't wanna sit in your chair (See ya later doc)

Tell me why's this? Did you just say 'oops'?
Don't leave me hangin'. Mouth is dry
All I need, is just an explanation
(Just explain it now) When you have a sec (Just explain it now)
(Just explain it now) When you have a sec (Just explain it now)

D-E-N-T-I-S-T
See if it's a cavity
D-E-N-T-I-S-T
Check up, woah is me

(floss it to me)(floss it to me)(floss it to me)(floss it to me)
Rinse again now
(floss it to me)(floss it to me)(floss it to me)(floss it to me)

(There's an extra part at the end of the song that I have, but until someone comes to me with a will and a way to record this monkey, this is about it for now. You can call me a quitter if you want. I won't hear you.)
I'll try to top Guy don't know why he's got so many parod-I's. And Will makes me ill how good his is still, but there's still a thrill, while I sit on the window-sill. Everything about this comment makes no sense.

A bit painful but overall not bad.

Another clever parody - I'm looking forward to more. Spend a little more time on the lyrics (Don't awkward English use, just to get it to rhyme). I want to be able to give you more than 4's, because your ideas and your sense of humor are solid 5's.

I rushed this one, which you shouldn't do when dealing with anything medical. Thanks for the feedback.

I thought this was really funny. I think there should be a whole section devoted to dental hygiene. Good work.
The Great Karlando - November 30, 2003 - Report this comment
I thought this was pretty good. I got a dental appointment on Friday, maybe I should show this to him before he starts diggin aorund in my mouth.

Good work.

I do and thank you. And that goes for Leah and Karlando the Great also as well inadditionto amendedsincethedamnthingwastoovague. If you can find the logic, then you need more help than most people. And that's just scary.

I love dentist songs, and this is a great one. I had to give you 4's because the internal logic of the song broke down a little for me; maybe use quotation marks as necessary when switching from one speaker to another. Have you seen my "Floss Me In The Morning"? I sang it at a dental academy graduation last spring and I would love to do your song too with your permission. Keep up the great work! d;:^)

By all means, Bob. Holding me to my word, huh? I think my version of the song is a later recording where Aretha Franklin does a lot more solo improv during the song than normal. If you need to change the lyrics a bit to make it sing-able that's fine too. I was trying some of the lines and "floss it to me" is really hard to say at that speed. I'm honored that you found my silly parody so enjoyable.

If I think of any re-placement lines that increase 'pronunciationability' of the song, I'll post them here. Bob, if you end up changing anything if you follow through and sing it, just say it was a co-authorship for simplicity purposes. And let me know how it goes, man.

And I promise that if I ever get a hold of and listen to the Diana Ross song I'll give you a full review for "Floss me in the morning"

2nz - Not bad, but not as good as your "Joker" parody (which you kind of indicated here). I looked at your list but it appears we focus on different eras so I didn't know the others besides this one. But I'll check you out when I have a chance. Right now I post and read and comment between phone calls at work (Support for a Tax Software company) so I'm short of perusing time.

2nz - Ahh! A song I know (hell, who doesn't know "Respect?). Hmmm...from the comments I see I MADE a comment on this already (I read it and it's ABSOLUTELY me), but I don't appear to have voted on this at that time because it took my vote and added it (4-4-4). Must have not submitted the vote on 12/5. Glad I re-visited it. The phone rings and I hop off here and on the call (Actually, put that as "past tense", last day at work here is tomorrow. Gonna miss the folks but it's disintegrating anyway. Better to go now and get on with the getting on than be sitting around here at the end like the freaking Alamo watching people get picked off.)

A belated thanks to you Paul, I really appreciate your in-depth comments.

2nz - Wow - looks like everything involving me was belated on this one. But all is more or less well here it seems. I just tread the comment you made today and could not remember what I said so I came over here and saw my other TWO comments and figured, "Hey, let's go for three, ChuckyG doesn't charge me by the word here anyway." I enjoy making the comments and I hope people find them instructive and/or fun. I just let it flow as it appears to me and then try to make sure it makes at least a little sense before I post it up. I love what you've done over on the MessageBoard to draw attention to other Authors. Has anyone put you up yet? It should be done! I'm wondering if it's a little tacky for me to do so because you put me up, so I'm gonna see if someone else will pick up the ball here. If you've already been recognized, well, as Emily Litella often said, "Oh...Never Mind, Good-night".

Yeah, this comment is pretty late too. Nope, never had a week, but I'm not gonna declare it my own week. There are a bunch of other people who've been here longer than me who deserve it so much more. I don't even have 25 parodies yet. Maybe after I get a couple more and there's actually a good list size, you all can consider me. Until then, I'm havin' fun just being the dude who organizes everything, like a mini-ChuckyG who doesn't do anywhere near as much work. Thanks for the thought, though.

2nz - well said. thought you had more postings so far, but what you have is excellent. I like what you're doing to bring attention to others and I try to contribute in that manner also when I can. Johnny D, Rick D, Spaff and many others also offer new folks encouragement and point out good stuff they run across. If I tried to name everyone I'd leave SOMEONE out so I'll leave it at that. I think the cumulative effect is showing, too - it seems that there are new people coming on board and putting up some pretty good stuff. I know a lot of folks don't have time to comment and limited time to read & vote (been there myself) so I'm not trying to pressure anyone.

Pretty good there.. I haven't decided to vote 4 or 5 for pacing yet; but for funny I'll vote 4 and for "overall" I'll vote 5.
Serafina - February 24, 2004 - Report this comment
I decided on 5-4-5.
