"The Ballad of Giuliani, part #2"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Part #1 was published last week.
Rudy Giuliani!
Voice of those wild Trump Years!

Update provided by the scribe Max Boot,
Who, in May '18 wrote a blurb astute.
New York's refurbished image, he does impute
To Rudy's role in governance,
Which few dispute.
Rudy - "America's Mayor",
Praised by political seers.

Max does admit our guy's 'intemp'rate' style,
But he granted folks' diversity a high profile.
Supported gays and immigrants, and warn't hostile
To programs appealin' to both sides o' the aisle.
Rudy Giuliani,
A 'moderate' musketeer.

Our Rudy had his 'character flaws',
(Though he knew 'bout state and fed'ral laws)
His arrogance and vanity could give you pause;
His judgment sometimes had a subordinate clause.
Rudy Giuliani,
Sometimes you should steer clear.

As Max has recounted in terms quite blunt,
GOP idols, the 'Trump test' confront.
They've 'sacrificed their principles', they all have flunked,
So, the party's evolving to the 'National Front'.
Rudy, leading others,
Takin' a downward veer.
Rudy (here, Max is tearful)
His 'fall' is the most severe.

Max's take is that the Chief's defects,
Can infect those who bow and genuflect.
Rudy, like the others, has 'failed the test':
He's the voice of an epoch we've learned to detest.

Rudy Giuliani! Voice of the insincere. x2.

You are MUCH too kind. Thank you.

To downplay my own political leanings in the interest of satire, I have based recent submissions (e.g. "Brennan's Tweet", "Indiana Song"), on current writings by centrist or conservative commentators, using direct quotations in my lyrics to the extent possible. If you find George Will and Max Boot to be 'Leftard lunatics', you must sit on a far-rightward portion of the spectrum. Come on over where I sit; the view of the middle of things is much better!
