My wife played alto flute on Sunday in a performance of Igor Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring". It is a very difficult piece, and opens with a solo bassoon played very high. So here's a possible scenario...

I got Stravinsky on my mind
I got to sight-read all those notes
High on my bassoon-y
A well-known riff that's a little strange

Keep losing in the upper range
Always squeak the "C" too high for me

I got this "Rite of Spring" to play
I got to bite the bullet now
I'm on tonight in tux and tie
There with my bassoon-y
The curtain's up, and I'm getting' down

Soon that nasty "C"
Will be doggin' me

How sweet to write one off your wife. Stravinsky is a pill, isn't he. The best Rite I ever heard was by the New Holland (PA) Band. I don't know why. They are awfully good, but maybe they left some of the notes out.
