Parody Song Title:

"Good Morning Blow Jays"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This song is obviously about Toronto's early misfortunes: Remember the Blow Jays from 1985, 1989 and 1991? That's what everybody still remembers them as, even though the Blue Jays won back-to-back World Series in 1992 and 1993.
Good morning Blow Jays, you old choking guys
Good morning Blow Jays, I thought you won the game last night
I hoped and prayed until it seems you have won
Now here you are with a loss
Wish I forgot you, but you're here to stay
It seems I met you when your chance went away
I guess I'll start each day just by saying to you
Good morning Blow Jays, what's new?

(saxophone solo)

Stop haunting me now, can't shake you nohow
So why don't you leave me alone?
I've got these April blues, straight to October blues
Good morning Blow Jays, here we go again
Good morning Blow Jays, you're the one who knew me well
I guess I'll start each day just by saying to you
Good morning Blow Jays
I see you're coming back to town
Good morning Blow Jays...why don't you...win now
Now, now...win now!

Gotta give props to you for using a jazz standard!

I read this out of curiosity because it was a Billie Holiday song. This must be an inside joke I don't understand, but the lyrics are well written and in sync with the rhythm.
