The Lyrics

Caesar, beware the Ides of Mike...
Oh, the witches have such teeth, dear
and they show them, rotting gray.
Just a dagger has old Macbeth, babe
and he's kept it put away.

You know when those witch gals told his fate, babe
scarlet billows from the King.
Fancy talk, though, from Mackie's wife, babe
says use water, never a trace of red.

Now, on the sidewalk, huh, huh
ooh, feast day evening, uh-huh
lies a body, just stabbed to death.
Eek! And someone's speaking to the coroner.
Could that someone be our Macbeth?

Aw, there's a new ghost, huh, huh, huh
sounds like his old friend named Banquo
it's a conscience that's holding him down.
Ooh, that conscience is just, it's there for the plot, dear.
Five will get you ten, old Macbeth's gonna frown.

Now, did you hear about Birnam Wood, now? Come to Dunsinane
after Macduff's kin fell to soldiers' thrash.
And now Macbeth talks just so remorseful.
Could it be our boy's done something rash?

Now, Jeremy Brett, Ian McKellen
look out, Jason Connery, and old Orson Welles.
Yes, the curse falls on the play, babe
now that Macbeth's violence sells.
Now... Jeremy Brett! Whoa, Ian McKellen!
Look out, Jason Connery! And old Orson Welles!
Yes, the curse falls on the play, babe
now that Macbeth's... violence sells!

Look out, The Scottish Play!
If I omitted your favorite Macbeth-playing actor, I apologize, but the rhythm of the song had to fit.

I was going to deduct a point for missing a rhyme in the second verse, but you made the last verse rhyme (when the original did not), so 5-5-5.

Parody runs parallel to the play in many ways. Well done.
