The Lyrics

OK, I'm a little late with this. It's about Cinco de Mayo on dias de Madre. I had some trouble getting those Spanish words to rhyme, so i thought to heck with it.
Taco shells, savory smells
Cinco de Mayo in Burbank
Picante wafts your way
Spring's in the air fifth of May.

Eat tortillas, drink tequila
Until you get the worm
It's the season to drink Margaritas
Eat frijoles, guacamole
Make it hot 'till you squirm
And from every food vendor you'll buy -

Tamales (con mucho gusto), frijoles (me gusta mucho)
Cinco de Mayo in Burbank
Everything (with silver bling), red and green (muchachas dancing)
It's Christmastime in the spring.

Mariachis and rancheras
Serenade songs of love
As the revelers eat enchaladas
Hear the gas pass, get the last laugh
With the June gloom above
Con los canciones bailar.

Silver bling (shimmering), everything (red and green)
Cinco de Mayo in Burbank
Jay Leno (at Acapulco), menudo (le gusta mucho)
It's Christmastime in the spring.

I've been to Mexico a number of times and really enjoyed it, especially when fraternizing with the locals...I'm sure the ones I met would agree that Cinco de Mayo is a great day to get drunk, just like every other day of the year (I jest!)...Great job on this...555!!!

Gracias, alvin. Leo, why go to Mexico when you can come to Burbank to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? You won't find Jay Leno there. Mark, after Cinco de Mayo it's VE Day, Mother's Day, Farthers' Day..........next thing you know it will be Christmas. Gari, 5 tequilas - that's a lot. Don't you mean 5 Margaritas?

SenorTwoEasy, very nice indeed, Senor! Yes, here in NorCAL we celebrate it Big Time! Have you heard the Doe XX's Beer commercial ? ? I love that voice . . . Mexicano Vaquero, "Stay thirsty, my friend !" . . esta un Hombre muy Macho ! He makes me shiver . . .

Thank you, Queen. No, I haven't heard that beer commercial, but the Pollo Loco commercial comes on all the time during The Simpsons until it drives me nuts. It is a rendition of a popular Spanish song which is very beautiful, but the commercial drives me nuts until I want to sing El Pollo C@ C@ along with it.

Sir 2Ease, I love taco Shells; they would go well with your Fuerte Avocados; just add a sprig of Cilantro & sqeeze a lime . . . Oh, I could crunch/munch on one today!

Thanks, Madame - a German Shepard that barks in Spanish? Must have been born in Argentina. Thanks, Lady - yep, that's the way I eat 'em.

Great parody 2Eagle, and as for MadameSinkHole's Spanish-speaking German Shepherd, it could have been born in Costa Rica too. There were/are plenty of escaped Nazi war criminals down there, and their descendents are all over the place. 5s all the way.
2Eagle - May 20, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Andria - the Nazis were patroling the Gulf of Mexico during the war so that wouldn't surprise me.
