Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Diet Coke! Diet Coke! Diet Coke!"

Parody Written by:

Old Man Ribber

The Lyrics

Marijuana, cocaine, crack, alcohol and even tobacco are not America's largest substance addiction. That distinction belongs to Diet Coke. I know because my wife is an addict. So help my wife...please! ;D
It is five o'clock in the morning
And I'm hearing the first warning
Before the first light has broke
"Diet Coke! Diet Coke! Diet Coke!"

I can hear my wife gently raving
Time to feed her morning craving
Before I can light a smoke
"Diet Coke! Diet Coke! Diet Coke!"

So before we can wash and dress
Long before our fine breakfast is cooked
Her addiction we must address
Brother! Oh Mother! She's hooked!

Countless people share this same habit
Fill the mug with ice and grab it
'Though the taste always makes me choke
"Diet Coke! Diet Coke! Diet Coke!"

(Instrumental break to bridge)

Oh we buy the cans by the case
And the two liter jugs by the bunch
But with her manic drinking pace
Most will be used up by lunch

I can tell you by our involvement
We help keep the Coke guys solvent
And we'll drink it until we croak
"Diet Coke! Diet Coke! Diet Coke!

;D

I can't remove it, nor any other voter, but if you email ChuckyG at the address linked in his copyright notice at the lower right, chuck@worcestermass.com, he can. Unfortunately, you've already got votes and comments from different folks at each, so no reason to lose those. Just try to catch it after the second submission, before the page updates next day.

"Delicious" irony here: Numerous studies have shown that artificial sweeteners do absolutely *nothing* to help weight management (and a few have been found to be cancerous). The brain and the blood want a certain level of sugar, which they can get from food, but the emotion wants that lift -- and so those who hit the Equal and the Diet Coke end up eating more sugar, or more other food, to compensate.

In non-geek English, 555.
