The Lyrics

President Obama's televised address on Monday July 25th was somewhat of a letdown. I expected the media to proclaim it better than Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, the Sermon On The Mount, and the best oratory of Winston Churchill. Instead, there was nothing new or memorable. Even Chris "he gave me a tingle right up my leg" Matthews bemoaned the endless droning of "balanced" and "fair" as something sounding like a Fox News commercial (OUCH!!). Christmas In July presents a condensation, distillation, and satiric (mis?)representation of the text. ;D

Hey, look at me! I'm on T.V.
And I'm giving a speech.
For my debt limit hike I am preaching.
I'm The Chosen! Watch me posin'
As I lecture and teach.
Here's my latest fine buzz words for you:

"Balanced way" - hear me say.
No cuts without lots of taxes.
Blame and scold! Scare the old!
Soon it will be August Two.

Hear my fine chords! Flood the switchboards
Like we did in oh-eight.
Once again to my troops I'm outreaching.
Just say one thing - "Blame the right wing!"
Play the cards of class hate.
I'll tell you what to think and to do:

Raise my debt - higher yet.
Use tricks - no scalpels or axes.
Fill my vault, or default
Will be here on August Two.
Then we'll all be in the stew!

I believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Bigfoot. But...asking me to believe that the federal government will reign in its spending voluntarily is just too much for me to accept as real! ;D

Tricks with no axes, scare the old. Typical govt tactics. Time to stop pretending there is any difference between Democrats and Republicans. All just one greedy club and to hell with us peasants. It's getting late for Christmas in July, and getting late for our country.

Reid, Boehner, Obama. That's only 3, but 5s for the parody.

Your intros/outros are still just as entertaining as the parodies! Let's hope things turn around before the final silver bell tolls.

What FG said about in and out (ponders whether to rephrase that), and LOL @ "silver bell tolls" --- (psst! Fid! -- it's no longer silver, It's now mostly copper, with a bit of silver plating, like our coins.)

Excellent skewering of how The Anointed One is becoming The Disjointed One, and each voter is becoming The Disappointed One. Flowed to TOS as smoothly as the BOS (BO s**t) flowed. ... It's been agreed that votes don't mean anything anymore, except for a certain recalcitrant reptile, from whom your 555 was truly deserved.

LOL @ Anointed/Disjointed/Disappointed string. Mojo in your flow, as TJC pointed out... ;) [Are you sure you're not part Irish or Welsh, Tommy O'Turtle? ]

Tommy O'Turtle, eh? "TOT" -- yep, was quite the tot, and now you know how "Tater TOTs" got their name. ;) ... The pea-sized brain isn't getting the Irish/Welsh connection - "Explain Again to Lame one of Pea-Brain", please? ;)
