The Lyrics

Last Tuesday, I received favorable comments about my midterm election parody which savaged all sides. Let's try another. If I can keep writing without leaning too far to one side, I might have found a new career...as a tightrope walker. ;D

I'm waitin' - for 'Lection Day,
Debatin' - what's gonna play,
Creatin' - a diff-'rent U.S.A.
The nation - is mad as hell.
They're bracin' - here comes the swell!
Replacin' - the congress? Who can tell?

What is comin' down when the voters shout
"We have had enough! Throw the rascals out!"?
Look at the incumbents and see them pout.
That's what America is all about.

The bosses - don't understand.
It tosses - what they had planned.
Big losses! Real folks back in command!

In D.C. - the proud elites,
They can't see - their precious seats
Just could be - swept away in defeats.
They're playin' - the same old game.
They're sayin' - they aren't to blame.
We're payin' - for this! Have they no shame?

Thirty-five more days and the voters speak.
Will we get the leadership that we seek?
People will reject the corrupt and weak.
Will the career pols all be up the creek?

No telling - how it might go.
Such yelling - such useless show.
Repelling? That's one thing we all know!

;D

The real folks ARE back in command. If you got a problem with that, then go out and vote on November 3rd.

I'm surprised! This doesn't single out liberals or conservatives, Republicans or Democrats, Nor does this necessarily reflect my own (well known if antiquated) views. Well, at least you have respect for the pacing. ;D

Michael - Please enlighten me. I thought "you got a problem with that" was a Jersey phrase. Is it stolen from New York, a regional expression, or something completely different? ;D

When Lot bargained with God, he extracted a promise that God would spare Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of 10 righteous men. He then asked if the Lord would spare the cities for the sake of 5. The Lord said yes. Lot thought that over and told his wife and daughters to pack up and run. The new crew in DC in January should be given 30 days to repeal everything. After all, if nobody read the bills before passing them, we shouldn't have to read them to be rid of them. If they don't, they are no better than what they replaced and the public should ride them unmercifully until they are gone, too.

I'd love to hear this sung by Tea Party marchers, with a swagger -- maybe opposite the "last gasp" rally to be staged by the libs on October 30! 555
@ Patrick: And we know what happened to Lot's wife when she looked back. Voters won't, I hope.
