The Lyrics

Normally I like to vent about songs I don't like to the tune of those songs. This time, however, it's not just one song...
Ooh-ooh-ooh, yeah, hate me

My ears can take in a lot of genres
Buncha rock, lotta rap, songs that sample Madonna
Ain't much here that I lack, hard drive is colossal
But there's one style that's limited, just a bit

No love for country, no love for country
All twang and drivel, just ain't my thing, buddy
I'll say it bluntly: don't like how it sounds
Monday to Sunday, yeah, no love for country
No doubt, turn down when it's playin' loud
Or when I can't do that, I just tune it out
Ain't sorry, ain't nothin' to be sorry about
No love for country, no love for country, no doubt
Ooh-ooh-ooh

All the tunes they try, zero joke, sound alike
Chords? Same, all the same, rarely switchin' up when it's bridge time
It even feels like they're sharin' a voicebox to me
Same friggin' timbre, really pains the whole life outta me

No love for country, no love for country
Generic drivel, far from my thing, buddy
I'm just not hungry for the same damn sound
Monday to Sunday, yeah, no love for country
No doubt, can count the styles they have now
On one hand, "bro-", "boyfriend", "borin'", "girl", you're out
Ain't sorry, ain't nothin' to be sorry about
No love for country, no love for country, no doubt
Ooh-ooh-ooh, no love for country, no doubt
I have zero doubts (ooh-ooh-ooh)

I like pop and rock and rap, they deliver
New topics all around, old won't wither
But all of this crap 'bout trucks and dirt roads?
Same damn old bullshit, won't variate, man

No love for country, no love for country
Same stupid drivel, it's not my thing, buddy
Feel free to mock me, it won't change me now
Monday to Sunday, yeah, no love for country
No doubt, the sounds make me wanna drown
But if other genres mix it in? I'm down
Ain't sorry, ain't nothin' to be sorry about
No love for country, no love for country, no doubt (yeah, buddy)
Ooh-ooh-ooh, no love for country, no doubt
Yeah, zero doubts (ooh-ooh-ooh)

I'm a country disliker right here, boy
Haha, yee-yee

You could say that I don't "get" country because I'm Australian and thus there's a big culture gap. You could also say that it's because I started getting into popular music around the 2010's when bro-country reigned supreme. In answer to that, I say "yes".
