The Lyrics

As per today's other post, writing parodies for free didn't seem to be paying the bills (go figure!), so having done shameless "product placement" all week, we're hopin, hopin, hopin'....

Rolllin', rollin', rollin'
Our payola, roll in
Products we're extollin'
Till our pockets: swollen
No pride!
(None! Nah!)

Keep buggin', buggin', buggin'
Get another plug in
Should we sneak a drug in?
(Decide)

Through stain and wine, we weather
Put one together
Washin', these pals write side by side
Only thing we're lackin'
Our brands' financial backin'
Creating; payment send; please provide

Groovin' on, write 'em up
Rip 'em up, 'mprove upon
Scratch it out, better sub
Eyes wide
Cut that out, put this in
Line is in, not a doubt!
Jump 'n shout, send 'em in
We tried!
Huh? Huh?

Improvin', provin, provin,
This verse, we're removin'
Hope that they're approvin'
Not snide

Don't worry 'bout our standin'
Just throw another brand in
Soon, bet-ter living: manse, reside
My brain's calculatin'
How many checks are waitin'
We're ratin' what they'll spend for our write

Spew 'em out; chew 'em up
Neet to sup; dinner's on
'Nother bout; coffe cup:
Eyes fried
Shout™ it out! Tide™'ll spin
Runnin' out, brain is thin
All worn out, givin' in
We've died.....

(Trollin' trollin', trollin')
(Grovelin', grovelin', grovelin')
Rats!
(Put our heart and soul in)
Drat!
(Pollin', Goal is dole in)
Replied !!! --
-- Bah!
De-nied! :-(

Agreed. Make 'em pay (did that just sound like Rahm Emanuel?)! ;D

Yewe tewe just can't Hyde yer Raw talent!

PS: Can't believe your incredible effluence of premium parodies this past month or so--both as a team and solo acts...simply astounding... seems the Shell & Bow are the new Hammer and Sickle!
Mark Scotti - March 05, 2010 - Report this comment
That 'shell" game of yours is ALWAYS spinning, and to fiddle music as well! 555 grand a plug...
AFW - March 05, 2010 - Report this comment
Very nice jingling..I was expecting Pride, the furniture polish to be worked in there, somewhere
Patrick - March 05, 2010 - Report this comment
All the products these days are backed with oldies music. You think the advertisers would like custom lyrics to fit their merchandise. Keep plugging away. I'd like to see somebody make some money from this hobby.

Epic win, and I echo Patrick's comment. 556

Jingle's swell.

Old Man Ribber: Actually, it sounded more like Heidi Fleiss, but thanks anyway.... :-D

TJC: Given TT's rather, uh, well, at the least, let's just say "anti-Communist" sentiments expressed yesterday, could you change that to "Arm and Hammer&trade"? More in tune politically, and another plug we could try to get paid for ....;) With all of these "product placements", why aren't we more "effluent"? ? ..... (thanks for v/c!)

Mark Scotti: This shell was actually burnt out from watching the Olympics every night, late, *and* working on parody of same, but with a great partner and wonderful readers/commenters, came a "second wind" (nobody light a Torch!). Thanks for vfc!

AFW: Dang! We missed that one! I Pledge™ to get to them soon, Comet™ what may, my Bon Ami™! ... Cometo think of it, the Turtle Wax™ people owe me a few million by now.... thanks for v/c! A toast of Whisk™-ey to you!

Patrick: Actually, (cough) during the 2008 POTUS campaign, yours truly did sell half-a-dozen or so to a radio producer/syndicator, and two more in collab with TJC (they were his ideas in the first place). They just don't pay very much (sigh), but it was a kick. Thanks for v/c and for good wishes. (The lyrics were later posted here, once obsolete -- although John Edwards gave one a new life. No links, unless requested.)
emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; emsp; p.s.: Their bookkeeper slipped up one day, and sent a check made out to Mr. Tommy Turtle, which is hanging proudly on the wall. Tommy must be the only turtle ever to receive a paycheck. :)

Jonathan S.: Thanks, and I echo reply to Patrick! :-)

John Barry: LOL! And this week, "jingles swell" ;) (yes, "punctuation mattters", as TT says.)

Patrick: Put an & before all those emsp things, and they magically become invisible, producing a paragraph indentation as intended. Coffee time, methinks....

Robert Goulet would have been good at this, but the only time I ever heard him sing a parody was on The Simpsons.

Enjoyed your tune*.
(*for great tunes, it's iTunes™)

This is a lot better than some of the other trash* I've seen.
(*Don't get mad, get Glad™)

You have such a light* touch.
(*I meant Bud Light™)

I really have to hand* it to you.
(*You're in good hands with Allstate™)

2Eagle: I don't think it matters whether they hire Tiny Tim, so long as they pay up ;-D ... thanks for v/c.

Warren Adverbaker: (sigh) One good idea, then everyone wants to get in on the act... (seriously, LOL!)
A Baker's dozen of thanks -- baked by Nabisco™, Pillsbury™, General Mills™, and moi's favorite of all, Little Debbie™ ;-D

DKTOS but cool rhymes! haha

Alas, Tiny Tim has also gone to the big airwaves in the sky.

Phil Nelson: The Western TV series for which OS was the theme ran from 1958-66, and was the first break for Clint Eastwood, leading to his stardom. Still on reruns on oldies TV stations. Super-macho cowboy theme -- click my email captcha after the copyright, drop me an address (you can use a disposable; I respect everyone's privacy), and I'll send you an mp3. (sent to me by TJC). It's awesome!

TammyTurdus: It was "rhetorical" or "metaphorical". (you can look those up), to make the point that I don't care, only the $ count. I could just as well have said, "You could have Elvis or Sinatra sing it..." Get the picture? ... Thanks for stopping by.

Ann Hammond: Thanks as always.

I think LilCupCakes may take quite an interest in that comment... (as might Cowboy Dave...) ;)

We can only hope.... (yes, that was the ref)
Don't remember having had the pleasure of LCC's visits this past week, so dangled some bait ... so to speak.
No offense to Cowboy Dave -- for his sake, it's the 2-entendre it appears to be, not a personal ref. See? It works as a three-way! (digging self in deeper ... must ... quit ... now .... )
Andria @ TT & FG - March 07, 2010 - Report this comment
The parody was excellent, but unfortunately, no payola rolling in for me, and a great spoof of the writing abilities of Fiddlegirl and Tommy Turtle. :-)

Regarding LittleCupCakes, she mentioned on one of AFW's parodies a while back that she gave up AmIRight for Lent. Thus, we'll see her again soon, sometime around Easter if I remember right regarding the duration of that religious holiday. 5s.

Andria: Thanks for the v/c, and also for the info on LCC. I actually had noticed her absence, and it's good to know that all is well with her cupcakes and other parts. :) But if I'd known, I'd have Lent her whatever she needed to stay here :-D

I'd hate to give up AIR for Lent, but I can think of a lot of other things that I'd rather keep (use your imagination), so I don't blame her. (Surely she wouldn't give up Cowboy Dave, LOL!) Looking forward to her return, and thanks again for the message, v, and c.
