The Lyrics

Although Morehead State University lost to Richmond on Saturday, my beloved alma mater not only made it to the N.C.A.A. tournament but also defeated University of Louisville (!) in the first round on Thursday! Remember the names of Morehead State University and Kenneth Faried (pronounced Fuh-reed), who led the nation in rebounding and finished his career with the second-most double/doubles in N.C.A.A. history. Take heart, all smaller schools (I dislike the contemptuous phrase "Mid-Majors" that the "Power Conferences" use). ;D

Next time you dream for your "Mid-Major" team,
If you're quiet you'll hear - Louisville scream.

Can a lowly punk thirteen seed
Beat U. of L.? Never indeed.
No way, you low weak-kneed seed!
Who the hell is Faried?

But fear the Eagle! Morehead Eagle!
Morehead State had a date to be regal.
So when that lowly thirteen seed with Kenneth Faried
Came to play, you did read:
At the end, the Eagles had the lead.
(They got all the points that they would need.)
At the end, the Eagles were in the lead.

"Mid-Major" chance when you go to The Dance"?
The top team just might get - kicked in the pants.

Louisville prepared for a feast.
After all, they're in the Big East.
No one thought this Big East beast
Would go down and get fleeced.

But fear the Eagle. Morehead Eagle!
M.S.U. Blue came through! Was this legal?
So when you face a mighty beast who's from the Big East,
No need to call a priest.
Small school teams are no slouch in the least!
(Down there goes another Big East beast!)
O.V.C. teams are no slouch in the least!

(Instrumental interlude)

So anytime you come to play on a given day,
It could happen your way.
M.S.U. just beat the Cardinals!
Morehead State just beat the Cardinals!
Old Big Blue just beat the Cardinals! YAY!!!

Ea-gles!

No one is quite sure how to pronounce Louisville. Some say Louie -ville, some say Lewis-ville, and most residents mumble it as Lool-vull. But to students and graduates of Morehead Sate University, we'll henceforth pronounce it "Our biggest win in history"! ;D

JIN - Thanks, but my song is not a fraction of what my school accomplished. We now know Mr. One is from Louisville. ;D
