The Lyrics

This movie scene is brought to you by Frank Sinatra replacing Clint Eastwood in the role of Harry Callahan.
Did I shoot... Five shells or six?
Punk, Do you... Feel extra lucky?
Will my firearm... Do a whole lotta harm to thee?
Did I shoot... Five shells or six?

Since I'm so... Puzzled and thick
This might drop your health when it blares... As it launches it's shells
You'll die when you find out this test and buddy... It won't be swell
Did I shoot... Five shells or six?

Not too percise with the right sum I shined
Yet my face has formed a rough sneer
This .44 Magnum piece was designed to fight
You'll be greased, life ceased and you're smeared
Handgun blows worthless punks... Into a blood spritz
Thanks to mortality... You'll just be a casualty
Stopping crime's what I do when this Magnum booms
Bullets drop but I don't count them
So did I shoot... Five shells or six?

My weapon of choice leaves a sting that sure bites
See you shake since you're full of fear
This action's alarming thus figures aren't right
Could be eight- Maybe tweleve, It's not clear
I'm a pro, worthless punk... Can tell by my grin
I can cause your fatality... Count up the whole total of these
Now... I'm primed to shoot and you can't dispute
What I popped when the trigger was clicked
So did I shoot... Five shells or six?
Yes, I did shoot... Till they were nixed

You feel lucky, Punk?!

IIRC, 5 visually but the Magnum sound signature reveals one off-csmera shot= 6. 555!

Wasn't Frank Sinatra originally considered for the role of Inspector Callahan? The edited version shown occasionally on my local TV station only shows four shots. Sometimes the folks get squeamish about showing blood hits. Maybe Rob knows the answer to this: I heard somewhere that the iconic Model 29 Smith & Wesson in the film was in reality the visually identical Model 25 in .45 Colt which could use the readily available Hollywood 5-in-1 blank cartridges.

AFAIK, there were two custom .44 Mag Model 29s used in the film with different barrels. One was 8 3/8" and the other was 6 1/2." Due to the chambers, standard blanks wouldn't fit, so customs were made. As for the statement about most powerful handgun in the world, even back then, the .454 Casull round was already available, but since a handgun to fire it wouldn't come around for many more years Callahan was technically right! Btw, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, and Burt Lancaster all passed up the role before Clint Eastwood accepted.

Powerful parody Matthias, feeling lucky? 555 Also fascinating info Rob, who knew? Speaking of Sinatra and Magnum, I liked the episode of Magnum PI with Sinatra, especially that bit with the Genesis song "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight"
