The Lyrics

The State Of The Union Address was certainly a most curious affair. It resembled nothing so much as a campaign rally. President Obama needs to learn what Presidents Reagan and Clinton found out the hard way...that the media can elect but not govern. ;D

I'm back on the campaign again
Where everyone is my friend.
I used my Wednesday speech to stump and pose and preach.
I'm back on the campaign again!

Had many good bites of sound,
Nancy P. jumped up and down.
Didn't reach out to unite - chose to castigate the right.
I'm back on the campaign again.

Gotta build my "cred" now that health care's dead.
Jobs always were my first task.
Wish that I could go back a year or so
When in your blind trust I'd bask.

I'm back on the campaign again.
I'll use any means to my end.
My agenda hasn't changed 'though from you I'm estranged.
I'm back on the campaign again.

I touted my stimulus plans.
Chris Matthews got excited glands!
And I covered every lapse. They jumped to my finger snaps.
I'm back on the campaign again.

No regrets I show, straight ahead I go.
My programs I won't amend.
Take the path I trod, Newsweek calls me "god"!
I'm back on the campaign again!

More analysis will follow, although I'd still rather be writing about beavers like J.A.B. ;D

Sounds like the same show I watched - Wednesday and last year. I wish they'd quit standing up and applauding so much, especially Pelosi - it's like an awards show.

Thanks Mark and Tim...two post-partisan reviewers. ;D

Good song to parody...I've used it myself, quite a few...I guess Obam is fair game for all the spoofs...but hope I still hope he can come thru...good subs, rhymes, and pacing...

It's great to get a cowboy's observations on this "cattle drive", with the czars "ridin' herd" on the people they hope to cash in on at the slaughterhouse. Great parody, worth three unplugged nickels minted ~1880!

Thanks all. This time, there was no need for a "Preemtive strike". Chill, rob...lol ;D

How's about that speech Wednesday night? He's back on the campaign again! You're right about Obama needing to learn what Reagan and Clinton found the hard way! He should've practiced what he preached! OK, maybe he will. Only time will tell. Great job, Ribber and 555 parody writer bailouts for this one!

Great job, but DKTOS, so I'm giving pacing the benefit of the doubt and giving 5s anyway due to the quality of your other parodies. I'm with AFW and Christie on Obama, as you probably know, but I still enjoyed your parody.

Good job Ribber. You are spot on here, he has the tone of a candidate, not of a confident leader. 555

At least here civility reigns. But, as Voltaire said, "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." ;D

Very good spoof, particularly the Nancy Pelosi and Chris Matthews lines.

America is coming to the 100th anniversary of a series of structural changes to our government, a veritable bloodless coup in 1913, popularly touted as a solution to the problems of that era. Now, we are beginning to realize that most of today's problems are the result of yesterday's "reforms". The public already knows it, but the government, as usual, is behind the curve.
