The Lyrics
Tupperware, made the living so easy
You could spread your jam, and keep sandwiches fresh
It was there, when the summertime beckoned
So daddy and mummy were well-prepared.
Fish were jumpin’ and the cattle were grazing
As you ate your lunch, by the side of a stream
At a lido, or next to a racecourse
Comestibles packed, you were livin’-the-dream.
Teddy bears, would often use it for picnics
Honey treats, stored separate from ham
Tupperware, it made storage so simple
Airtight lids in any basket or pram.
Tupperware, made of durable plastic
A by-product of the petroleum age;
Portable, it seemed simply fantastic,
Now are we ready, to turn a new page?
They were round, or occasionally oblong,
Could be sealed, in the blink-of-an-eye,
They were tough, didn’t crack if you dropped one;
Carry flapjacks, or a pork-and-egg pie.
Tupperware, found some eager investors,
Counting beans so a rescue was planned
This dispersed all the gloom that depressed us,
Time to cheer for that Tupperware brand.
