Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

More G&S.
I have to play some bing-o! (Go play your bing-o!)

It is played on a card and it's not too hard
You can play five or six at a time-o
It's the game of the geezers with gaping gums
Who hear so hard and who take the Tums
And chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they yell when they get a whole row filled

Bing-o! Bing-o! Winner is me! Happy I be!
They chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they smile when they get a whole row filled

I must go play some bing-o! (Have at your bing-o!)

It is played with the zest of a soul near rest
Who lasted a lengthy life-o
It's the game of the grannies gone greatly gray
Who've been so bored and have said their say
As they gripe at the geezers with gaping gums
Who hear so hard and who take the Tums
And chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they yell when they get a whole row filled

Bing-o! Bing-o! Winner is me! Puny gifts free!
They chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they smile when they get a whole row filled

I need to play some bing-o! (Get out, play bing-o!)

It is played in a church on a wooden perch
It is played where they sing old song-os
It is chosen by charities finding funds
To help out some homeless beat-up bums
Push that game of the grannies who've had their day
Who sometimes snore during partner play
Then they gripe at the geezers with gaping gums
Who hear so hard and who take the Tums
And chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they yell when they get a whole row filled

Bing-o! Bing-o! Winner is me! Need to go pee!
They chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they smile when they get a whole row filled

I have to play some bing-o! (Screw you and bing-o!)

It is played with a plan, many cards as you can
As the elderly fingers fly-o
As the squares get inserted by tiny tiles
The richest rows make the mighty smiles
Grab that game of the grannies who've had their day
Who sometimes snore during partner play
Then they gripe at the geezers with gaping gums
Who hear so hard and who take the Tums
And chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they yell when they get a whole row filled

Bing-o! Bing-o! Winner is me! Puny gifts free!
They chase the chips when they name the "numbs'
Then they smile when they get a whole row filled

Bing-o! Bing-o! He'll shout no more cause he hit the floor
Had a stroke when he got his whole row filled

Super (again), Rick... though ISTM the "As he sighed for the love of a lady" line change could be better, the rhythm of the rest of it is awesomely good.

DKTOS, but I want to - I like G&S, but I don't know a lot of it. Rick, can you direct me to a sample or a MIDI ?

I would just say search the net. I have a book of the music. An interesting side story to this one. Gilbert wrote these plays and sent them to Sullivan for the music. Supposedly he was stuck for an idea and asked Gilbert if there was any tune in his head while he was writing the words (VERY common for us songwriters) He admitted he was thinking of an old sea chanty while scanning the words. He hummed it to Sullivan, who told him that he could now claim he wrote the words and the music. (An overstatement maybe, arrangement means a lot) But it does feel like a sea chanty.

Sounds like Gene Roddenberry cobbling together the crummy lyrics for "Star Trek" so he could make $$$ from songwriting royalties.
