Original Song Title:

Parody Song Title:

"With Cat-Like Tread, Looney Tunes Version"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

My third, and for the time being last, parody based on an OS from Pirates Of Penzance. Part of the OS was previously parodied, or stolen, to create "Hail Hail, The Gang's All Here". Listen to the OS here.
[Sylvester]
With cat-like tread
Upon my prey I steal
I'll soon be fed
It's really no big deal
No problem now
I give you all my word
My next full meal
Will be the tweety bird

[Tweety]
A putty tat, a putty-tat

[Sylvester]
So stealthily I'm gonna creep
I hope that Granny's sound asleep

[Tweety]
I tee a putty tat
Does he want to greet me?
Does he want to eat me?
Here comes dat putty-tat
Acting like a little brat

Oh, no, dat putty tat
Doesn't want to greet me
Now he wants to eat me
Hey, mister putty-tat
You are such a dirty rat

[Granny]
Here's my crowbar and my rolling pin
You hurt my tweety, these will do you in
Listen, Sylvester, please take my advice
Spit him out and you'd better now play nice

[Tweety]
Bad putty-tat

[Sylvester]
With cat-like tread

[Tweety]
Bad putty-tat

[Sylvester]
I'll soon be fed

With cat-like tread
Upon that bird I steal
I'll soon be fed
It's really no big deal
Give me some time
I give you all my word
My next full meal
Will be the tweety bird

[Tweety]
I tee a putty tat
Doesn't want to greet me
He just wants to eat me
Hey, mister putty-tat
You are such a dirty rat

[All of the above, with Buggs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd,
Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig and Foghorn Leghorn joining in]
A putty/pussy tat/cat
His hunger can't conceal
A putty/pussy tat/cat
Is after his next meal

[Repeat last verse from Tweety and from "All of the above"]

This reads like something Mel Blanc would have done on a children's record in the '50s. Very good job!

Looney Tunes were the best. Nice job here.

555. Th-th-that's all, folks! ....(p.s. Steve, you were so creative with Major General, couldn't there have been new final verses instead of "Repeat?")

Thanks, everyone. TT, I use the 'repeat' because that's how the original goes. Same with Major General and with Foeman, where earlier male and female parts are repeated simultaneously. Various friends of mine can sing all three, although only one has sung the lead vocals to Major General.

Red Ant and the then-n00b TT had a lengthy discussion on repeats, which you might find of interest (or not):http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/theturtles23.shtml. .. Think of it as a chance to show off your parody powers and creativity!
