In the fridge I keep bread and butter
Eggs, bananas, pure apple butter.
Used to keep there all sorts of clutter,
But I think I’ll stop.

The pepper goes next to the salt just like such.
The cinnamon next to the dill weed.
The anise I can’t say I use very much.
But still it goes next to the linseed.

Lic’rice, jasmine, then the paprika,
Thyme and basil, mace and vasika.
Always ever will not seek a cause to ever stop
Putting curry on the bottom and the ginger on the top.

When I’m feeling quite in a hurry
I just reach right here for the curry.
I just reach right here for the curry with the ginger on top.

I can never find any clover.
Think it might have burned on the stove, or
Maybe it is something I overlook or tend to drop.

Always keep a stocked lazy susan,
Cream of tarter stuffed ‘til it’s oozin’,
Piled so high should I find myself snoozin’ they all fall ker-plop,
‘Cept the curry on the bottom and the ginger on the top.

Should the world collapse all around me,
Everything I trust just astound me,
I have a prescription to ground me on my countertop.
