The Lyrics
An old Irish folk song, often taught to children and beginning students of Gaelic. Since it refers to a fisherman who wrecks his boat on one of the Aran Islands, it seems an appropriate tune for another Edmund Fitzgerald reprise. Took me decades to find a copy. There are several good versions on youtube. Just enter Baidin. The other name is spelled several ways. Great melody. Sinead O'Connor says that the song is a veiled reference to an old Irish warrior who was lost while fleeing from an enemy.
