I have to admit, from a humor perspective. . .well, I found it not as much humorous as reflective. . .that said--I don't think that this topic is easy to make humorous--but sometimes a parody that is reflective is more important. I like how you don't take a strong stance on this one as its clearly an issue you have mixed opinions about--I also have mixed opinions. Personally the states, not just Wisconsin, who are having to cut our Education Budgets, Road Budgets, and ultimately State Employees from their payrolls cause it by lavish spending in good times. Unemployment and other taxes went to pet projects in most states when times were good, states are supposed to build up Unemployment funds and reserve tax money in good times to offset the bad times, neither the federal government or local state governments did that at all. In fact, some states like New Jersey and Michigan saved so little that they had to begin boring from the Federal Government not in 2008 or 2009 when the recession really bottomed out, but in 2006. . .almost right at the beginning of it. Its sickening, but tax holidays and excessive spending on pet projects by both parties--and not just on the federal level, it's disgusting, but it will happen again, and again, and again, because "Tax Holidays" and million dollar local light rail campaigns make good politics . . .
