Song Parodies -> "Say, Where Did Twenty-Ten Go?"

Original Song Title:

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow"

Parody Song Title:

"Say, Where Did Twenty-Ten Go?"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

What a year! OK, time to move on...
Say, where did twenty-ten go?
Blew on by!
In—with Haiti n’ health care
Out—weather’s still awry

Say prayer:  This year’s less loco
Lifts ‘Ten’s pall—
That hope flopped when Ms. Snooki dropped
In the Times Square ball!

Recall the vuvezela's blare
And Prince of Wales’ proposed ‘mon cher’
inspected?
Then BP cracked while Wiki leaked
And land slid as the GOPeaked
While Tiger texted!

Say, where did twenty-ten go?
Don’t ask, tell—
Bret Farve, too, mastered sexting
Gee, every post was swell!

Last year 'twas tough to find rainbows
Among reali’teasing shows—
and twitters
Where pols n’ pundits rant n’ raved
As Sheens n’ Lohans miss’behaved
And Mel’s still bitter!

Say, where did twenty-ten go?
Prius crashed
As mo-vies all embraced 3D—
Cam'ron culled our cash!

Let’s hope ‘Eleven tops ol’ ‘Ten
‘Cause ‘pocolyptic ‘Twelve’s
on deck
my
friend!

I also did a parody celebrating the end of 2010. Too much crap happened this year and you added a lot that I missed. Like the whole Wikileaks thing.

With gas, groceries and eveything else going sky high, it looks like it'll take $20 in 2011 to buy what $10 would buy in 2010.

2010>2011 = 555.

Superlative. May 2011 be filled with more of your parodies!

Nice nostalgia...also, where did all my "Twenties" and "Tens" go?

Cortex-loads of memory-laden thanks out to Matthias, Jackson, John (did you employ your DaGucci codex?), Dee (much appreciated--ditto yours!), AFW (heh, perfect subbin' there!) and Mark!

Oops--The above comment was intended for Old Man Ribber! Seems I'm a bit rusty...

TJC: I envy your range of interests that shows so well in this parody. I approve of your liberal use of apostrophes to keep the pacing, but point out that "and" should be abbreviated " 'n' " yet saves no syllable. 455

Thanks Barry. Appreciate the comment!  As far as the apostrophes go, that's just me exhibiting style over sub'stance!
