The Lyrics

Assuming that a parody does not necessarily have to be funny, Battle Hymn may be considered a parody of "John Brown's Body", which came from a camp meeting song whose name escapes me at the moment. Well, Congress is about to pass the giant stimulus bill, and from what I hear, us working folks are in for a big windfall this summer. I can hardly wait.
There'll be thirteen dollars extra in my paycheck come July
Even now I'm looking forward to the things I'm going to buy
Maybe take a nice vacation, should I drive or should I fly
The money's rolling in

Wrap it up, I think I'll take it
Buy another if I break it
Creating jobs for those who make it
The money's rolling in

I will find my long-lost girlfriend, put a mink upon her back
Then I'll hurry to the showroom for a brand new Cadillac
If I get low on spending dough, just grab another sack
The money's rolling in

Wrap it up, I think I'll take it
Buy another if I break it
Creating jobs for those who make it
The money's rolling in

We will dine in fancy restaurants most every single night
And I'll pick up the tab for all the friends that we invite
I'll wear a custom tailored suit, now won't that be a sight?
The money's rolling in

Wrap it up, I think I'll take it
Buy another if I break it
Creating jobs for those who make it
The money's rolling in

I'll pay off the mortgage on my mansion by the sea
Get season tickets to the Royals, the Chiefs, the Symphony
Then watch a thousand channels on my giant screen TV
The money's rolling in

Wrap it up, I think I'll take it
Buy another if I break it
Creating jobs for those who make it
The money's rolling in

Let's give thanks to Congress for the windfall we shall see
And putting us in line for all their generosity
Billions for the plutocrats and "change" for you and me
The money's rolling in

Hail Barack Hussein Obama
Sasha and Melia's Mama
All the Democrats in Congress
The money's rolling in

This Missourian appreciates the Royals and Chiefs reference, too. 555

555 - let's see $13 for Patrick and $700 billion for banks - I guess the Govt. thinks that is fair. Maybe $13 could get you a down payment for a subprime loan for a house.

All that money to the banks was for making even more subprime loans, the very activity which triggered this meltdown. Sort of like drinking scotch to cure a hangover, or treating burns with a cigarette lighter. Everyone with anemia, line up for the leeches.
