The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things,
Of GST and refugees, of which the Rodent sings.
Of children thrown overboard and hidden WMD,
Of fear of change, & fear of all who come across the sea.
We need to talk of interest rates, of bribing mothers for their votes
Of governments who take your sons away in armed boats,
Of a promise to the country, of no more troops into Iraq
Then when the rat is voted back the ships all disembark.
Of military governments who silence those who speak
Of poor medical & dental care and people sleeping in the streets.
Of glorifying the forces, and selling it as ‘fun’.
Of glossy propagandering, to con more of our young.
Of pulling out the funding from universities
Of forcing the disabled out to search for vacancies.
Of dumbing down society, causing disempowerment
To form the new world order, of right wing government
Of a future with the certainty of working till you drop,
Of breeding up automatons to blindly work and shop.
Where thinking and creating are stifled till they're crushed,
and a time when Planet Earth is just a dried up ball of dust.
