The Lyrics
'Twas Christmas, and the little tots
Did gyre and gimble 'neath the tree.
All blinky were the Christmas lights,
And the pine wreaths - we've three.
"Beware the Santa Claus, my son!
The list that knows your good from bad!
Beware the Reindeer bird, and shun
The fruitcake from Grandad!"
He took his candy cane in hand:
Long time the jolly elf he sought --
So rested he by the Christmas tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in youthful thought he stood,
The Santa Claus, avoiding flames,
Came whiffling through the fireplace wood,
And ho-ho'ed as it came!
"Ho Ho! Ho Ho!" And to and fro'.
The jolly elf went snicker-snack!
He left his gifts, tilted his head
And went galumphing back.
"And hast thou seen the Santa Claus?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas Christmas, and the little tots
Did gyre and gimble 'neath the tree.
All blinky were the Christmas lights,
And the pine wreaths - we've three.
