Song Parodies -> "Words Are My Plaything"

Original Song Title:

"Tears On My Pillow"

Parody Song Title:

"Words Are My Plaything"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

The author disclaims any credit (or blame, heh heh) for whatever flows out the flippers, through the keyboard, and onto the screen ...

McKludge once asked, long ago, "Where do you come up with this stuff?" The answer: I don't. You know the old saying, "A thought just struck me"? ... These things "just strike" TT's pea-brain. The most likely source: Alien Paro-Beams. Second most likely: Mutant (ninja) freak, caused by over-exposure to lamb-da rays. (Hey, both the Hulk and the Turtle are green! Coincidence? I think not...)

OS video here.

You're very kind to me
And what I write for you
But in all honesty
I say, "No credit due"

Words were my plaything
Right from the start
Since age two (ooh)
(two, ooh, ooh, ooh)

Your comments: great to view
Your songs, I gladly rate
A freak ability?
Gen-etic twist of fate

Words are my plaything
Ver-bally smart?
(shrugs) ... math too, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Parody is magic
Each, their way, enjoy
When you find the line that's fine
Your style, own, employ

I've laughed with lots of you
And learned much from the great
At times, I think I'm wack
(Now, 'scuse me; sheep-ish date)

Words are my plaything
Not toys or clay
Cursed (?) - high-Q?
(ooh, ooh, ooh ooh)

(Oh, we-ei-ei-rd)
(Stra - a - a - ange)
(repeat and fade until next attack of Alien Paro-Beams)

Had serious doubts about whether to post this, and how it would be taken -- it could go either way. Oh, well, nothing ventured, nothing sprained ...

You *obviously* don't know *me*--but then, there's no reason you ever should! This one held my interest with your ewesury aplomb--Polly wanna grokker?

AFW: Humble thanks, and awesome alliteration..

Ameripecanhumble Pie: So, attributing any success to aliens and/or freak genetics isn't humble? ... Dang! Failed yet again... (sniff) (crawls away humbly) .. thanks for v/tmc (vote of too much confidence) ... and yeah, the grokker barrel can never be too full!

I know how you feel, my four footed friend. Words are worlds, we're just enjoying them without the 'l'. Enjoyed it very much!
Old Man Ribber - July 02, 2010 - Report this comment
Words are merely your plaything? Yeah...like lightning and thunder are Zeus's toys!! Next to you, we are children (albeit infants terrible!). And AFW is not "alliterate"...he reads very well! (You didn't think I could pass up a pun, did you?) ;D

"Parody is magic." Indeed! If this were Harry Potter, you'd get an "O" for "Outstanding"! :)

Guy: Thanks for the shell-ack(nowldeg)-ing!

WarrenB: Beautifully stated -- poetic, in fact. (Seriously.) Thanks much!

Old Man Ribber: Of course not! (pass up a pun? What a waste!) Thanks for very kind "words"; I enjoy yours as well.

Bilbopooh: DK HP, but I'll take "outstanding" any day! In fact, TT has often been called "outstanding" -- if you saw "I Only Wanna Pee, Not Pooh", you'd see that he's often out standing in a field somewhere ;) .. thanks for v/c!
