Parody Song Title:

"Operetta Musical"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I wrote this for the cast of the Operetta Musical Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan of the Grand Rapids Master Arts theatre. I was fortunate to a part of this, and wrote my own version of this song specifically for the cast. So some may not make sense to you as it is inside jokes in part.
We are the very model of an operetta musical,
the pirates of penzance with lots of lyrics purely whimsical,
rehearsed and rehearsed until we were sick of itical,
and now we all are ready for a very long sabbatical.

The morning and the evening shows were fun and interesting too,
at several times the audience would sit and blankly stare at you,
and then we got the weekly glimpse of the grand rapids press review,
Then we turned right around and showed that woman we can sing in tune.

Good work, Tim - you broke a leg with this one! Are you a musical theater person? I'm a former professional dinner theater performer myself.....musical theater has been a big part of my life!

Very nice, Tim! I could imagine Victor Borge performing it. Hey, Johnny - so, you were in dinner theatre? Frank Sinatra started as a singing waiter in North Jersey, and I've eaten at a dinner theatre once or twice, so I think we all have a lot in common.

thanks guys...apparently the 2nd and 3rd verses were deleted from this site...probably because of length...understandable... yea as for more parodies...i have several that are in the middle of it...but i'm still working on it...and yes i am a musical theatre person...i just turned 19 years old and as of this coming fall i'll have been in theatre for 6 years....now that's not a long time i know. But I have been in around 11 shows so far...that's plays and musicals...also i have done tech...lighting sound and all that jazz for 7 maybe more...so i've done a lot in those 6 years...though am not an expert by any means. I also am in a comedy Improv team also as the Master Arts theatre called "Contents Under Pressure" took us a year to come up with the name...and still dont have uniforms yet...anyway..thanks all..there will definatly be more parodies in the future...once they are done

Cute! The second and third verses were deleted? I couldn't be due to length; you should see the length of some of the songs on this site! It must have been an accident.

I didn't remove the verses, and there is no length limit for a parody (that I'm aware of), so try and submit it again.
