The Lyrics

Though this is a parody, it is not necessarily a funny one. Omniciding cowards struck Paris and killed over 100 people in yet another senseless attack. Needless to say, attacks against immigrant camps were carried out in response. Peace and calm were called for but even as the body count rose, Islamic Clerics were praising the cowards that were involved. This is one of my favorite dirge poems and it is even more saddening when it is set to music. I was listening to a musical version of it when I was reading a follow up story on Paris. What would an event like this appear to be from the perspective of someone who survived an omnicide attack but lost loved ones from the same attack? Instead of laughing, I want you to have a cold feeling in your stomach as you at least think.... ENOUGH!! This savagery needs to end and if the 'peaceful Muslims' will not take steps in that direction, the USA and Europe must do so. As for those who use Al-Taqiyyah to express regret over this attack, you are on the side of the attackers.
The Faith that Foments Hatred

(Sung to "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" by Robert Dwyer Joyce)

I raise my tear burned eyes above
to the gray and leaden sky...
I am supposed to mourn my loss
but not allowed to ask why...
I did naught to incur their wrath...
but still they do explode...
My future may be full of dread...
from The Faith that Foments Hatred...

It was to be a glad day;
my son favored a game...
My daughter sought a puppy
bright eyes and fur encased...
Instead I've laid my daughter down
into the colden earth...
There wasn't enough left of my son..
there was more of him at birth...

We gave to them our shelter...
they swarmed in like a flood.
They live upon our fertile land...
but pay us back in blood.
Their teachers say it is our fault...
that we should give them more...
But amidst the bloody carnage...
there's a declaration of war...

And now the enablers taunt us foul
in the places where they gather...
They say murder was done for peace...
For me it no longer matters...
I see them all in one cold light..
they've no pity for my sorrow...
Today I will not seek the peace..
I may pray for them tomorrow....

There's explosives in my hand
as I light a fuse...
We only thought that Catholic Priests
could visit such abuse..
I know that it won't bring them back..
regardless of Muslim dead...
but this is what they've brought about...
The Faith that Foments Hatred....

Having played and sung The Wind that Shakes the Barley many times, and it is a sad song, your update captures the spirit of both helplessness, anger and revenge perfectly. I even played guitar to sing your song and it is an outstanding choice for these current events.

This may well be the single best serious parody ever to grace this site. As one might expect from my ethnic heritage I have an especial affinity for and response to Celtic melodies. The lines "I laid my daughter down into the colden earth.../There wasn't enough left of my son.../there was more of him at birth..." is so graphic to bring tears to my eyes. The third stanza tells the whole story in eight short lines. I was a bit stunned by the comparison of ISIS killers to abusive Catholic priests. I feel a bit offended. However, the priests who abused children in their care, and the subjugation of women in Islam are both the product of men with a stunted view of sexuality and a refusal to control their impulses. The dilemma of remaining true to one's values in the face of such evil you describe so vividly. But, to not take up arms is to dishonor those who died. This is a war for the soul of humanity. They know it. We refuse to recognize it. I can't use the 555 system, which is geared toward humorous parodies. But this is true greatness, and I want you to know how I view it.
