The Lyrics

Since they kicked off the new year, here is the song that was all about the particular 1951 broadcast of "Beat the Clock" featuring 300 boy scouts and more.
This boy scout once knew Bud Collyer
This boy scout once knew Roxanne
This boy scout was great and beautiful
As they fought the storms of life

This boy scout once take a big picture
This boy scout heard many shouts
Now he looking in the darkness
When the elephant walks about

Ain't a-gonna need this scout no longer
Ain't a-gonna need this scout no more
Ain't got time to make the elephants
Ain't got time to see Carole

Ain't got time to get George Briant
Nor to mend Germaine Briant here
Ain't a-gonna need this scout no longer
He's a-gettin' ready to meet the saints

This boy scout is a-gettin' larger
This boy scout is a-gettin' old
This boy scout let us take pictures
This boy scout deals with elephants

Oh his scouts are a gettin' 300
But he feels no fear of pain
'Cause he see Roxanne peekin'
Through a time on the big set

This boy scout is afraid of elephants
This boy scout is afraid of cheering
This boy scout just looks and seeing it up
When the night Briants can help

This boy scout is gettin' feeble
This boy scout is needin' dogs
Just like him it's seeing Briants
But he's a-gettin' ready to meet the Briants

Ain't a-gonna need this scouts no longer
Ain't a-gonna need this scouts no more
Ain't got time to beat the clock
Ain't got time to beat the clock

Ain't got time to beat the clock
Nor to mend the Briants saw
Ain't a-gonna need this scout no longer
He's a-gettin' ready to meet the Briants

I've seen too many Boy Scout parodies what's the deal behind them?

Way back when; six months ago, really; George Briant's #1 fan started to write parodies about this broadcast. After four months of this, he gave the parody writing duties to Duc4AmIRight. He took it even further, and it has become the most talked about topic on the site. The end.

I like that last bit .. The end .. as in the the end of this ridiculous episode where an incident that 99.9% of Americans has ever heard of comes to completely dominate a website devoted to SONG PARODIES. And to make it even more ridiculous the songs that are parodied are also songs that nobody has ever heard of. And the only reason it is talked about in a positive way is because one person uses innumerable sock puppets so as to pretend that this is a subject anyone cares about. All other posts are completely negative
