The Lyrics

In the 1980's an aircraft restorer talked Congress into giving him several million dollars to build a couple turbo-prop engine replicas of the WWII P-51 Mustang. The new plane, called the Piper Enforcer was composed of parts from WWII vintage Mustangs, the propeller from a Douglas Skyraider and landing gear from a Grumman Aero Commander. The Air Force didn't want anything to do with an obsolete tail dragger, not when it had the very effective and rugged A-10 Warthog. After a series of test flights, flown by civilian pilots, the two PA-48 Enforcers ended up in museums. Now the Brazilian firm Embraer has opened an office in the US and is trying to sell its Tucano, a small turbo-prop airplane as a counter insurgency or ground support craft. It's basically the Enforcer with tricycle landing gear. They are used a lot by countries such as Colombia and Peru to ambush and shoot down drug runner flights that haven't paid the required bribes, and occasionally missionaries who stray into their paths.
The Piper Enforcer
New Mustang!

Close air support for U.S. troops

Too old design!
Way too old design!

Air Force didn't want it
Tail dragging on ground
A plane with propeller?
Too low, too slow, foe would shoot it down

We paid a price for it
Few million bucks
A waste

Don't want it
Don't need it
Can't use it
Won't fly it anyway
Just didn't care
Tucano, Brazil
Testing it now
Have you heard?
We'll spend a mint on it
The same old plane

Good for you Patrick with the Enforcer!!! Sorry that I did not address this one earlier in my SJH aircraft info-parodies, but well-done!!! 555!!! One nagging question though that bugs me about you... WHY do you leave comments on many of my parodies and yet fail to rate them??? I don't get it...???

BTW, the original Tucano dates back to 1980 and had export orders by 1983 to Egypt. It then became the most successful COIN a/c in thew world with exports to S America, Europe, N Africa, and the ME. It's successor, the ALX is the best COIN in the world right now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embraer_EMB_314_Super_Tucano And the best not built is the Russian Aeroprogress T-720 which would put both the Tucano and Enforcer to shame: http://sobchak.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/t720.jpg?w=550&h=469 It is appalling the COIN a/c the US is supplying Iraq AF with when they need normal jet military a/c like MiGs or Sukhois, even US jets...

Must be getting in a hurry. I sometimes see people complaining about the number ratings and someone who rates everything 111 without regard. I personally don't care about numbers, I want to know what people think. When you do a parody of a song I am not familiar with, I don't feel qualified to judge it by pacing or similarities to the original. I can judge it for information content and links to history, which you are quite adept at. We don't have numbers for that function, so I would rather convey my thoughts in text than by numbers. I'll have to look up that Russian plane. Sooner or later one of us will get to the Argentinian Pucara, most of which were wiped out in the Falkland/Malvinas war.

TY Patrick for explaining. Makes me feel better. I know that I post a lot of material and do lots of info-parodies... but when you stopped even rating my aircraft, I got nervous. Today, my entry about aircraft is about the MAVs. Someday I will do aircraft like: the Concorde, XB-70, XF-108 Rapier, Vickers Swallow, Avro 730, Fokker-Republic D-24 Alliance, and a range of German oddities (probably more disc craft and VTOL oddities)!!! At least you will have non-stop info coming your way :-D
