The Lyrics

I found this Latvian oddity from 1915 online and tried to research it, but nothing really comes up. For 1915 it is very advanced with the turret up top and hull below. Engine is rear-mounted and it has a simple driver/gunner combo. The turret looks like it has a Maxim MG meant for it which means it would do little against the latter rival big British and French tanks- even the massive German A7V. But that particular design would be considered modern even in 1918. The Germans were building a massive landship called the K-Wagen but also had a similar tank in the Oberschlesien design with turret up top and hull below. Strange that the Latvians, which were under Russian rule, would come up with that design in 1915. An oddity not found in any of my many tank books. Pic below of hull construction.
Latvian tank was new
for the time

Latvian tank design was new
MG applyin’
For combat tryin’

A turret-hull arrangement
The design looked sound
Driver and gunner combo
Was the most modern design around

Latvian tank was new
for the time
Undermined

They built two
They built two
They built two
The turrets- no mounts
Parts here and there
Driver couldn’t see
Design cast some doubts

Was ‘15
Latvian tank was new
for the time
(a strange machine)
