Original Song Title:

"I Put a Spell on You"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Screamin' Jay Hawkins

Parody Song Title:

"Catholic Church Priest Report is News???"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

First crack at the Vatican...
Catholic Church Priest Report is news???
blatant child abuse

Better stop molestin’ kids like you do
Stop the denyin’
Victims keep testifyin’

The Holy See can’t stand it
Predators runnin’ around
Paradin’ as Godly men (commitin’)
abominable sin, God’s gonna strike you down

Catholic Church Priest Report is news???
blatant child abuse
No plausible excuse…

God help you
God help you
God help you
God help you, pedophiles
And I don’t care
If you blame celibacy/homosexuality
You should rot in hell

Unholy priests
Catholic Church Priest Report is news???
blatant child abuse
(WTF? WWJD?)

I'm sorry that I could not work into the song the fact that the Catholic Church manipulated the stats with the definition of prepubescent children to lower the percentages of abuse!!! That too is just as scandalous IMHO!!! They defined those children only up to age 10 instead of 13. The difference is staggering. Anyone who abyses children in this manner needs to rot in hell.

TT: It sounds like you've got pretty angry with Rob, Rob has problems like me, and believe me, he is trying his best! I wasn't very good at pacing either when I came here, but yet I got voted highly too, but I do have to admit that you and your webpage did help me significantly in the past year I've been here! :-), But at least try to give Rob a chance, he is trying to do his best, he is not fooling around when writing his parodies, nor do I think he's trying to compare himself to anybody. Why do you think he's writing all these parodies, to me, he's trying to get better, I've emailed him often, so I know him pretty well by now, he's a very nice guy! :-) Oh, and 555 for your parody Rob. :-)

Besides, 10 parodies, 15 parodies, who should care? In a way I envy Rob, even if he does use mainly the same OS all the time "You Put a Spell On Me", I have enough trouble just writing one parody, let alone 10 or 15, no matter the length, title or genre.
Wild Child JIN - May 21, 2011 - Report this comment
See, sometimes I can't even get the OS title right! It's "I Put a Spell on You" not "You Put a Spell On Me", :-o I keep doing that, and I don't know why!

Although, "You Put a Spell On Me" does sound like a good idea for a parody to the original song. ;-) Since I seem to keep typing it all the time instead of "I Put a Spell on You", maybe SJH did put a spell on me! ;-D

TT: I am not comparing myself to anyone b/c I am myself and already have a repitation for my knowledge on certain subjects. Second, I use the SJH song as a base song for topics that teach. Third, on most other songs I DO try really hard to match the pacing but as a disabled person I have trouble with many of them. And lastly, I am here to have fun, educate, and learn things myself. I think people like J. Barry are awesome!!! As far as the number of songs is concerned, on Mondays they will always be higher simply b/c of the 4 days involved (Fri-Mon morning). That's only 2-3 songs avg- not uncommon at all. Maybe others do not write from Fri-Mon morning, but I do.

Sorry for the mis-spellings. I am disabled with diabetic eyesight and also am in pain everyday. Having Ulnar Neuropathy up my right hand to soulder doesn't help either. It is painful for me to even write this...

Rob, IGNORE TT- he's starting trouble over nuthin' (asHawkins would write)! I LOVE your work and have learned so much from you thus far- more than any other here.

The Church lowers the age of "child" to exclude those entering puberty, who would be more vulnerable to still unfamiliar sexual feelings and more likely to be manipulated. The FBI defines "child" as those up to age 18 and participating in the drug trade and criminal gangs, in order to inflate statistics on "children" who die by firearms violence. This is intended to evoke sympathy and a political response of ceding more power over guns to the central government.
