More on the really bizarre cartoon series "The Herculoids' of the late 1960s. On the planet Amzot a group of humanoids that speak English- Zandor, his wife Tara,a nd son Dorno- protect the planet from domestic and alien attempts at technology advancement. They are aided by an odd group of creatures that share their view: Zok, the laser firing space dragon, Igoo who is a rock ape of incredible strength and invunerablilty, Gloop & Gleep which are plasmoid forms that can envelope enemies and change shapes, and tundro which is a multi-legged combo rhino/triceratops with a horn-cannon that fires energy rocks!!! Together, this group fends off all enemies to ensure that Amzot remains natural and not dependent on technology to enjoy a good life. The series ran 1 season of 36 two-segment 11 min episodes. In the 1980s they were revamped as part of the "Space Stars" with 11 more episodes. The original show was made by Hanna-Barbera Productions.
