The Japanese Hino-Komuro M1908 pisol is a weird blow-forward design with a fixed breech and traveling barrel. It has a long, thin barrel, exposed trigger, and weird grip safety in addition to rear-mount mag! Upon firing a combination of gas and the round traveling down the rifling push the barrel forward which extracts the cartridge and then sliding back via spring picks up another round to chamber while settling on the breech face! The initial cocking is forward as well. Designed for use after the Russo-Japanese war, 1200 were produced from 1907-1912 but the complexity of the gun and bizarre features ensured that it was rejected for service. Most of the guns and Komuro's patents were destroyed with the fire-bombing of WW2. Only a small number remain as prized items for gun collectors.
